Oh it's beautiful, warm and sunny. Perfect for long walks in the park or near the beach. What about Canada? In which part/city do you live?

sounds lovely! I wish I was there instead. I can't complain about the weather here though. I live in southwestern Ontario and its been between 10-20 degrees lately, and mostly sunny. For April in Canada it's been pretty nice I've been riding my bike or walking everywhere lately and its great to get outside after the winter.

Now that you mention it...bike...I can't even remember where my bike is :-/ [I haven't been using it for aaages 'cause the streets in Athens really suck -_-]
I've never been to Canada, I've only seen pictures and read canadian literature through a course at the university..It has to be an amazing place worth of visiting

Haha, gotta love those ancient bumpy roads
And that's funny that you've learned about Canada through university, because I've learned about Greece through university. I had to take a course called Foundations of Europe that was all about Greek and Roman history, for my architecture degree.
I'm dying to know, what is Athens like??

Awesome! Have you graduated?
Oh well, Athens is a huge busy dirty city Full of life, artistic events, street cafes, night clubs, bookshops, museums, hotels...Everything for every taste. It's also the heart of student life 'cause many university faculties are located in the centre of Athens. [It's worth visiting the oldest neighbourhoods of the city, near the Acropolis and near Exarheia.]
Fortunately I live in the suburbs It's too noisy downtown..

I have 5 1/2 more years before I'm a licensed architect. 5 years bachelors degree, 2 years masters degree.
Oh man, I'd love to visit Athens some day! I love artsy towns. I bet the city is always busy. My hometown is a very small town, not a lot to do It's better when I'm away at school, I'll be leaving to go back to school this Saturday
What are you studying in University??

decadent-tool In reply to kass-just-kass [2010-04-29 10:40:40 +0000 UTC]
Enjoy your studies! They say that university years are the best of our lives.
And you're of course welcome to come ! Yeap, the city is really busy, especially on Saturdays. e.g. I may go out for a coffee on a Saturday afternoon and then for long walks around the city and finally to a rock club [or two ] to spend the rest of the night till morning hahahhh.
Your hometown would be more similar to the suburb in which I'm living. It's nice to live in a less busy place and maybe friendlier in a sense.
Oh I'm not a student anymore...my graduation ceremony was in November. I studied English Language & Literature.

I agree! I'm enjoying university a lot!! I've met so many wonderful people
Are there any architecture firms in Athens? I'm thinking Co-op work term in Athens!
It's a quirky little town I live in (you can actually google "my hometown killed an elephant" and you'll know what town I live in ) Between the dead elephant monument, the old train station in disrepair, and the astounding number of pyromaniacs in my town... (we had 2 schools burnt down in one year) there's something charming, in a quirky kinda way, about my hometown. It's also nice to go out and almost always run into people you know.
annnd... Congrats on graduating!! I hope your enjoying the non-student lifestyle So what kind of career do you want to go into with a English Language and Literature degree?

Oh yeah! Uni has to be the perfect place for meeting people with similar interests. I'm still hanging out with friends I've met at university.
There you go: [link] I had no idea we had so many architecture firms.
Hahah I googled what you said...poor Jumbo!! I also saw a pic of your railway station and I think it's awesome
Oh well, I run into people I know every day -_- people are always saying that "Athens is just like a big village".
Thanks dear! Yeap, I do enjoy the non-student lifestyle but I miss university so much..
Right now I'm teaching english at a private school but I also want to choose a Master Degree 'cause I love learning more and more things related to the english language.

Thanks for the list of architects, I've bookmarked them so I can apply to them for this September
Actually, I have photography-geek friends that love to shoot by our railway station, it's a nice location for pictures
That's cool that you teach in a private school. Do you like teaching?
By the way, I realized that i don't even know you're name, so i figured it was time for an introduction. My name's Kassie

Haha you're right! My name is Vassia, nice to meet you
Oh I love teaching. I understand the needs of my students and I always try to teach the lesson in more interesting ways and also motivate them. teenagers can be difficult to handle though..
Do you prefer taking photographs or creating pictures using your computer?

Nice to meet you too
That's very cool, I have a great admiration for teachers, partially because it can be very difficult dealing with kids, and partially because I don't think I could ever do it, lol. But it makes the biggest difference when teachers are enthusiastic about what they teach!
Actually, to be honest, I'd rather sit down with a blank canvas and make something beautiful out of it. I love the traditional art styles, painting, drawing etc.
I also love computer stuff too, but in terms of designing, I always start my ideas with a big roll of trace paper and a good pen As far as photography goes, I did work in a photo studio, but I've never really done photography seriously in my spare time. I like taking photos when I'm travelling or out with friends, but just casual photography. But I do have an interest in learning more about photography
How bout you? I see you have some nice photography in your gallery

Yes, I'm in Cambridge now, at the School of Architecture. It's an intense program so I've been very busy lately, not much time for dA and art. School is going very well though, thanks for asking! Now... I need to catch up on some reading, I haven't had much time to read your new stuff yet.
