# About me
A scientist with the heart of an artist. I have a passion for antique medical literature, old books in general, analog photography, collecting cameras, and synthesizing my knowledge and interests into interesting ideas/artwork.I spend my spare time reading, hiking (always with a camera or two), collecting interesting objects (dinosaur toys and rocks, most often), playing video games, or doing research in the high energy physics lab I work at. I'm a fan of DIY in all forms, and make my own wine and kombucha; my evil plan is to branch into beer by winter (it's coming!)

You're welcome! I always fave things that capture my interest. You could really have the most beautiful picture in the world, but with nothing in it to get the audience's attention, what's the point? Some of your photos have that pizzaz, 'Reflections of Fall' for example. The oranges and reds contrast so beautifully with the green that it's hard not to look. The pictures are crisp, and the reflection is almost mezmerizing! I hope you continue to post anything you find interesting, because that actually makes us better! (I've posted some real duds that I thought were awesome... but now I have a more discerning eye, because now I know how to couple the interesting features with great composition!) Maybe the comment seems random, but that whole thought just occurred to me.

Thank you so much for the wonderful comment! I am very happy and greatful for comments like this. I love photography and have great time taking pictures and playing with them to make them good. I too have put things up that I thought were just awesome and they hardly get a passing glance. And things that I think are just "ok" are raved about. It is very confusing...but I chalk it up to timing.
I have a bunch of watchers that never fav or comment on anything or even participate. And there are the select few that don't always fave or comment but pop up every once in a while to say hi. I fav things that I like...I don't always know why I like it but I do...(Example your [link] ) This a a very cool shot! You have a fantastic gallery and are very talented with a camera. Your macro's of water drops are awesome and very well done. They all have a specific point with no background noise or clutter.
Thank you again Kate

Not a whole heck of a lot. College. College. More college. Etc. Bleh. Stupid dorm b.s. with freshman Just browsing the net whilst I should be doing Physics homework. Gee, we're alike... Also browsing for music and stuff on iTunes. Also, figuring out how to justify spending even more money on posters, by inspecting my walls and rearranging furniture... My dorm's pretty intense. I think I have the least blank wall/ceiling/floor space of anyone on my floor. At least I have a good reason.... (I'm in a single, and the majority of the rest of the rooms are doubles, so they have more free floor space. Maybe that doesn't make sense initially, but my room is 1/3 the size of theirs, not 1/2. ^^) What're you up to in school?

I've just been working (always working whether its at homework, Japanese or just my job). Actually my job is pretty sweet because they are actually kind of lax in the rules. I'm a lab consultant so as long as I clean, push in chairs and drop the things i'm doing to help a student or answer questions then I can do homework, watch anime, dramas, even House M.D. haha I mostly just draw actually that's where I do most of my artwork or at least have starts haha. The other times is when I'm doing homework like I should be doing right now. Oh well it's still early enough that I can get it typed up. I've mostly been trying to make designs for my Japanese drumming group (I hope that my teacher likes the designs i've made haha.) Hmm I don't live in a dorm I live with roommates and I share my room (I live in an apartment off campus, A better way to go if you ask me. I only have to pay $175 a month.) My roommate and housemates are pretty cool. haha I see that you don't like to see bare white walls?
Hmm I forgot to mention I've been working on my fanfics as well as chapter one of my original story. I keep on adding more fanfics (I really have to stop doing that.) I have 3 jiraiya fanfics, 2 saitou ones, plus a "whose line is it." Kenshin style. Hmm I even have one bleach crossover with naruto. can you tell I love naruto? The manga is getting too good I think I'll have to stop reading it for a little while to let the chapter accumulate and then I don't have to torture myself so much with the wait haha. Hmm do you ever get bored? Despite all this stuff that I do I still get bored. I'm literally in at least 4 clubs @_@ haha. (Some of them are kind of unofficial.)

Ah, so you finally are taking Japanese!!! I'm sorry that I wasn't much help on the front of online teaching, but all the teachers I talked to recommended that the best way to learn is to either go to Japan, or take a class where you can interact with others orally so that you can practice pronunciation (it's great if you can read every kanji/hiragana/katakana, but it doesn't do you much good if you don't know that "desu" is pronounced "dess" XD ) If I remember right, you're in your freshman year of college, right?
Wow! You're in a drumming group??? That's so cool! I hope your teacher likes the designs. What are the designs for, specifically? If you want, I could clean them up and digitally render them.... let me know! I think my email's listed, and I have a blackberry, so I'll get your email within hours Sounds fun to rent a house, but a dorm's handy in it's own ways. My 'rents are footing the bill for housing this year, and it includes all utilities and food and is a 5 minute bike ride from class. It's pretty handy. And there's reserved parking for my building only (unlike the rest of our dorms, ) No, I can deal white walls, but there needs to be at least *some* decoration. If I could afford classy and cool decorations, I would do that, but for now I'm just re-using all of my nerdy anime and video game posters I have some classy stuff, but I have to amass slowly so as not to bankrupt myself.
