hmmmm personally I believe a Mary Sue/Gary Stu character to be one who doesn't suffer from the consequences of their actions in the story, and gets handed things to them too easily. this kills conflict because the character doesn't need to struggle, they instantly get what they want. and stories like that just aren't as satisfying to read...

if you don't make life too easy for your character, then
your character is not a Gary Stu :D (Big Grin)

but there's so much confusion with these labels
so don't worry too much -- just write what you feel like writing :) (Smile)
there is an audience for everything

Honestly? Guess nobody wants to get in on that kind of activity. Truth is, if I were to post anything, people wouldn't even give me the time of day. I don't know what's worse: being forced to live in a bubble, or being screamed at so venomously it ends with a ban. :/

why? O_o O_o O_o O_o O_o O_o O_o what makes you so special? I guarantee you if you just post an ordinary thread (not a troll post, and not an inflammatory flame thread) in the (right) forum, (and check the forum rules beforehand), you won't get harassed off the forum. 90% of forum threads just go ignored or get a handful of reasonable responses and that's it. the forums are pretty boring -- nothing much happens there. a lot of troll threads and people being silly, a lot of dumb nonsensical OPs (especially in the Religion & Philosophy forum Facepalm I just don't go there...)

the General art forum is very peaceful -- peeps just talk about art. no drama
