hey, are you from germany? cause one of the pictures was saying that your grandparents live in germany.

(if you're not german, type this into google translate )

Haha yes. I was born in Hamburg, but I moved to West Australia when I was 7 years old. My german is good enough to understand everything you wrote, but I wont embarrass myself by trying to write back in German!
There are quite a few meanings I guess in my bird picture... but honestly it just sort of happened unplanned. I just started drawing and wan't really thinking too much about what I was drawing. I like not giving people my meaning of my works so that everyone is forced to bring their own views and ideas to them, but I suppose the main motive in this drawing is to do with the pollution our cars, cities, factories etc are creating. The bird being a symbol for freedom, and more specifically the dove a symbol of peace and purity is trapped in the middle of it all. But there are more layers that I see in it... and im sure you see other things too... probably different to mine... which is actually what i love about art...
anyway, thank you for all your lovely comments, it's really nice to hear that somewhere someone appreciated what you're doing.
Love, Lotte. x

I love print making! I would love to study it so I could have a print studio at my disposal. I had to teach it up north and all I had was a few bits of lino and a rolling pin. One day I would love to buy a piece of your art work.
I'll send on the love, I know Jot misses you!
Esther.

Hello, thank you for the favs on man stretching and b25. I wasn't sure what to think of man stretching because I did it so quick so I really appreciate that you like that one.
:-D

you're most welcome. they are really great works. I really like the "man stretching" because fisrtly the colour pallet it really nice, and it looks spontaneous, "catching the moment" so to speak. so yeah, fanastic work. I guess im just super jealous becase i just cant do quick sketches/paintings/anything. i always take my time, which works well for me... but i wish i could do more spontaneous works!

lol, i'm actually really a slow painter-drawer too. that's why i usually will just have a friend or myself sit for a photo and then work from the photo and take my time. still, i do try and keep it under a half hour to keep it fresh.
the trick to doing spontaneous work is just not to think about it, but thats easier said than done lol.
thanx again and i love your work too

yeah definitely. i mean i guess the more drawings you do without much thought the better they will get, even if the fist few a aweful, it's really the only way to learn how to do them. but again, easier said than done.
anyway, i'll keep a look out for your stuff when you upload more. it's great getting inspired by others on da... or infact anywhere. so yeah, thanks.

It really is! But my friends tell me that what I drink isn't actually coffee, because of the amounts of sugar I put in...
It's more like liquid sugar with a slight coffee flavour

kettle-rocking-one In reply to Tuesday-M [2008-06-15 10:26:33 +0000 UTC]
oh no... you don't do you? ah sugar in coffee is like sacrilege!
I'm not sure i can talk to you anymore... it goes against all my purist values! Haha just kidding. (Unless you also drink instant coffee... in which case I may have to dis-own you as a friend... or educate you in the finer arts of coffee drinking... hehe either way!)

That's what I say to people who drink milk in their coffee!
(Although I have to admit that milk in coffee is probably better than sugar in coffee)
I just like sweet stuff... its an addiction :'(
Luckily I don't drink instant coffee

*phew!* Yeh, I think milk is definitely better than sugar... but still pure should be the only way! hehe.

I'll have to build up to it slowly.
First cutting down to just three spoons of sugar, and so on and so forth...!
