ok, well so far my only two concerns are the angels n ink pictures that were edited. my concern is that they are selfies. i feel they would be a much better picture without your phone or camera in it. the focal point should be the wing tattoo, but the phone and the camera take that away. i also feel if the one that says (shaded) on it had that nice edit like the the one with less detail in the wings, it would look very nice, but keep the fading subtle and i think youll have a great pic set. maybe even shoop the wings a bit, just until theyre actually finished. those wings are gorgeous.

theres a lot of potential in your photos. the wheel that turns is great. id love to see that same picture but drinking tea or coffee. im sensing the focus is on the pottery, but my eyes are drawn to your face and hair. youre very talented and cant wait to see more!

i watch people based on 3 things: 1) i really like the art 2) want to see how they come along with their art (if they improve or stay the same) 3) they watch me first and have decent work in their gallery

and also, im always open for advice, critique, what to do next and help if anyone needs it.

Thank you for your honesty and advice. I will definitely take them into consideration. Its difficult to get a photo of the wings without the camera/phone in the pic due to it being on my back, I've tried setting a timer and quickly running into a position but it never seems to turn out right. If you have any suggestions on how to improve that technique I am all ears lol because I realize they do look like selfies and it sucks but the focus was just suppose to be the progression of the tattoo not really me. I plan to do a modeling implied photo shoot when the tattoo is finished (and possibly after I add a few more tattoos ;D ) and the most recent photo was just a quick shot to show the progress we had just made. I had gotten about 5hours under the needle that day and was eager to update my followers on the new ink but I can surely go back in and edit it to fit with the others :woot:

well, you could get a friend to take the picture for you, or if youre feeling ambitious, set your hand up in a way it can be removed in photoshop and then pose (not looking into the camera). i know its a pain to do it yourself, in summer semester i had to "clone" myself for an assignment. i took about... 70 pictures? only a few came out right >_< i cant wait to see the finished wings. not a huge fan of tattoos, unless its wings on the back lol

Haha that sounds like a difficult assignment. I would burn through a ton of pics before I found ones that I would find suitable for an assignment. what kind of classes do you take?

 I suppose i could try and edit the hand out of the angels & ink (dark wash) if i were to edit it like the other 2 i could probably shadow over the hand holding the phone. 

Having a friend take it is...idk I would feel weird asking someone to take a pic of me half naked. It's different when I'm posting a pic that I, myself, took. I still have a lot of confidence to build before I get to the comfort level of doing that implied photo shoot, so idk if I'm quite there yet to let someone else photograph me like that.

im currently taking figure drawing and digital media 2. ive completed analysis of form, digital media 1, figure modeling and colour and design. i go to academy of art university working on my BFA in visual development

thats totally understandable not wanting to ask a friend to do that. its takes a while to get that comfortable. what kind of camera do you have? whats the longest timer setting?

I don't have a camera at all unfortunately, the one in the pic I borrowed from someone so I mainly use a camera phone or my ipod touch. Funds are a bit tight for a legit camera

oooh ok! least youre working with what you have and thats good i grabbed a coolpix over summer for my class for about 100$ at best buy and it did what i needed. but you can also still use your phone or ipod. i also just did a search and theres timer apps you can get. i think your editing skills are good enough to not need a fancy pants camera ^^

Lol yeah all the photos in my gallery (aside from the "studio" pics) are all done with a camera phone/ipod. i work with what I have and try to edit them to look better then a crappy phone pic.

very nicely done! i like how the lighting in the upper left fades out some of you, focusing on the cup. the lens flair at the top of the cup keeps my eyes moving back to the cup. awesomeness!

I'm always open to suggestions, which is why I ask people for a critique when they fav or watch my work because I genuinely want to know how to improve. I know I'm not the best but I can never get better if I ignore negative criticism and ignore helpful tips/advice.
