Hoooly crap, i just watched your FZD contest entry and was amazed in the end, cuz 343 industries lol. Damn, may i know when did you actually start doing art, what you did before design cinema and how many years since you've learnt it till you get to the point where you worked for 343?

I actually went to art school, learn more with traditional medium. Design cinema mostly helped me with the sense of design and idea for my work
I think it was just the matter of taking time and really try to get your work as good as possible for the position you are going for. I am a matte painter/skybox artist in 343i, so not exactly concept art

im a student (10th grade) whos really interested in art and im currently having trouble how to start drawing backgrounds and settings. i would be very happy and appreciated if you tell me how you started to draw buildings and such?
i know that you have to practice, but i dont know where to start

as for building, I'll say look at a lot of reference for design idea, and to draw them well.. good fundamental and correct perspective is really important

I was at my desk sculpting, building my portfolio. During a brief time out I came across your video for the FZD contest. I have been a fan of his for a long time. Your video sky rocketed my soul. It was like watching a movie, edited and conceptualised incredibly well. Your heart is truly in what you do and your creativity shows that. A quick suggestion I have is that you can work on your lighting a bit, choose some pretty distinct lighting photo (like those 5pm afternoon light) plate to work on
