omg HELLO FRIEND I am so sorry I never freaking replied to this, I'm the worst
But hell yeah dude urban forestry is a cool field to get into!! And it's only on the rise! That's cool that you're a tree person too, I never knew!
I'm actually not quite as interested in it anymore though-- I had a job this past summer that had me out in the national forest every day and I LOVED it! So I think I wanna go into the type of forestry that has you out traipsing through the woods!

Oh man I've been a tree nerd since I was a kid reading field guides for fun was prolly a contributing factor to having no friends I actually contribute to the 'official' tree measuring and record keeping organization whenever I get the chance... but kind of forgot that there is a great career opportunity in that interest too haha!

I'm only about six hours from Great Smoky Mtns NP (and half an hour from Bankhead National Forest in AL) and I've strongly considered that in the long run, the only negative is I'm so used to air conditioning that the local national forest would be pretty hot in the hottest summer days for a while X3 I would actually love to talk about that sort of stuff if you have a discord or skype or something similar so I could further cement some career options and catch up sometime!

That's awesome!! Haha yeah I can imagine forestry is way different in the south than here in the rockies! I plan to stay in the west if at all possible lol, I'm not great with heat and humidity! NTS (Formerly ENTS, Eastern Native Tree Society but they expanded their scope to cover the west and other parts of the world too several years ago, there's members all the way out in Malaysia and Germany now who are very active) There's a lot of very cool info and discussions scattered throughout! YES I the climate of the mountain west is much preferable to this hahaha ;o; I mean the Smokies aren't as insanely stupidly hot as the lowlands but the humidity is even worse so uh, I'd probably move way out west if I were to seriously go into it as a long term thing. I need to visit some of those states when I get the chance and money... have been to the west coast but not much in between here and there XD

Hey! Life's going okay. I'm really stressed out, to the point where I'm sick for the second time this semester, after not getting sick for three years straight... like wtf. And I'm kind of tired of being an art major, which sounds crazy, but I'm just so burned out on pottery. I could take next semester to relax on pottery a bit... But I'm supposed to complete the pottery program next semester so I might as well just suck it up?? I don't know. 
BUT!! I applied for a summer job on Thursday, and they'e going to get back to me on Monday, so I'm excited about that!! I'd be working at a seedling tree nursery
So basically I'm enjoying forestry more than art these days... which is good overall, cause forestry is what I plan to make a career out of, not art.. but it's not good news for my pottery grade... and I feel like I'm disappointing my teacher. GAH. That's the worst feeling for me. 

Finals week is the second week of May, so yeah, we're getting close to the end. Which is stressing me out even more, but I'm also excited for the semester to be over haha. 

And how about you?? How's life?

It is super interesting!! I LOVE being a forestry major. I realized the other day that art is a female-dominated major and forestry is a male-dominated major, so I get to experience both! Haha. 
Anyway yeah I've discovered a huge love for trees in the past year or two. Plants are freaking amazing. I highly recommend studying them!
