Thank you so much! That's so wonderful for me to hear; it means a lot that you took the time to say something.

I've drawn on and off all my life, but I began to be serious about drawing about 3 1/2 years ago. I've had a bit of a struggle with it because every time I decide to make a career out of it I decide to stop drawing. It stinks, so I'm always pushing myself to keep drawing regardless.

Ohhh, interesting. That does stink you sometimes struggle with it but it's nice that you're determined to just push through it anyways. You enjoy doing it though, right? That's always a very important key in ... well, anything I suppose =]

I am enjoying it. I love it when a piece I've worked hard on turns out well, or when I've captured the emotion I'm going for in my piece. Heck, I even love it when something I've doodled turned out better than I planned. It's just getting started that can be the problem, and it's never fun to draw crap. But hey, 90% of everything is crap. I should just keep going through it anyway, right?

True and true, and yes, if you feel that's something you'd rather continue to plow through, it makes sense. And who knows, maybe eventually getting started won't be AS hard.

Have you ever tried looking through DA for inspiration? Maybe there's something on here that can help you get started with more ease than before

There are some days where I want to draw more than others. What usually gets me started is just doodling whatever I want, like just not worrying about the anatomy and proportions and foreshortening or whatever. Then once I've gotten that I'm more willing to do the harder stuff like practicing on anatomy and proportions. I find that a little self-indulgence goes a long way.
