# About me

A bit of a painter. A bit of a writer. A lot of a dreamer.
...A fox.

My hobbies: painting, reading, writing, working with wood-ceramics-porcelain-glass, making dolls, playing RPGs, taking photos, cooking strange stuff, meeting friends, joking around, having philosophical discussions about life and death matters, having my head in clouds;

I like: spring, clovers, good humor, ferris wheels, rain, foxes, roses, letters, bookshops, XIX century, Japan, children, teacups, umbrellas, fantasy worlds, nights, sea, lilac colour, waltzes;

Books: "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen, "Dandelion Wine" by Ray Bradbury, "Dark Avenues" by Ivan Bunin, "Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell, "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy, "Fathers and Sons" by Ivan Turgenev, "Chocolat" by Joanne Harris, "The French Lieutenant's Woman" by John Fowles, "Three Comrades" by Erich Maria Remarque, "The Clown" by Heinrich Boll, "The Remains of the Day" by Kazuo Ishiguro, "Seacrow Island", "Pippi Longstocking", "Kati in America, Italy and Paris" by Astrid Lindgren, "Howl's Moving Castle" by Diana Wynne Jones.

Movies: Love Actually, Amelie, What Dreams May Come, Pride and Prejudice (1995), Ima Ai ni Yukimasu, Dozhivem do Ponedel'nika; anime: Hachimitsu to Clover, Kodomo no Omocha, Jungle wa Itsumo Hare no chi Guu, Byousoku 5 Centimeter; dorama: Joou no Kyoshitsu, Bara no nai Hanaya, Kekkon Dekinai Otoko;

Music: Andrew Lloyd Webber and Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Whistle Down the Wind; Sonata Arctica; Giampaul Andrianopoulos;

Random Facts:
* Liska is derived from lisa that means "a fox".
* Rediska means "a radish" literally, but here we come to a folk meaning of "a trickster", "a mischief-maker" or simply "a brat".
* "Love and Peace" goes like "Love and Art" for me. In other words, love and art are two things worth living. )
* The third thing is a cheesecake
* I like painting red-haired girls and red-fured creatures, sunset skies, dandelions, skulls...

Thank you. )) Summer is nice indeed, though I am more used to a bit hotter weather in my hometown... I guess, our "weathers" are about the same now though. ) What about you?

sherega In reply to liska-rediska [2009-07-02 13:30:19 +0000 UTC]

I'm having nice time too. For me, it's quite hot here xD and I like it even though I'm maybe more used to colder weather because of the long winter time. =___= I feel so tired when it's really hot but luckily it has quite a comfortable weather for me these days. ^^

Spending my time writing and drawing and watching TV with my grandpa and sister. Tha is odd, because I've watched this far more tv than during the whole year, it feels xD. Even though it's only some hours per day and I always keep drawing or reading at the same time. Multitasking is something I do constantly. :' D

I'm going to my home city in the end of this week, and that's where I'll enjoy my hot weather. ))) And cherries. There will be some cherries in my parents' garden. )) I guess it's often the matter of habit about where to live... Though I know some people who are born here and enjoy Saint Petersburg's weather... and others who dream about hot countries like me. )
I just wanted to share a bit of my happiness with you. Yesterday at the book fair I finally bought "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell"! And other books too... I am going to have a nice 24-hours ride in the train, the first half of it (8 hours) in the train with only sitting chairs. Argh... That's the worst part. I only hope that books will save me.
I also bought "Wyrd Sisters" by Terry Pratchett and "Interview with the Vampire" by Ann Rice. A strange choice... I'm not really a Pratchett fan, but occasionally I try reading something. And I never read Rice, but suddenly became curious to know about classical vampire stories.
But now I also want to buy "Game of Thrones" by George R.R. Martin... and three other books: one children book, one modern novella about deceased children which is supposed to be problematic and sad, one novella from the 70s which is supposed to be warm and nice... The problem is which one should I take in the train?.. Or rather "which ones"... That's the problem I'm most concerned about right now. XD

Aww. You're having your dear cherries then. n_____n A lot of them I hope! I also hope that you have/had good time there and really warm weather!

I don't where I should life... I like snow and autumn and rain and sun and almost every possible weather that occurs here, but the lenght of seasons annoys me a bit. For example summer could start a bit earlier...

YOU BOUGHT IT! : D Yay! I thought about buying it from net but I'm a bit inefficient with things like that... I've to admit that I've never read Terry Pratchett. It's strange because we have so much books from Pratchett in our library (but I don't like the covers that much). With Ann Rice is the same thing, never read. But I know this specific book anyway. ^^

(Take them all and tell me which is the best. Totally new author. O.O!) : D

I've bought several books too, during this summer-time. My day is saved when I find a good used book tagged with a cheap price. n____n For example I found The Book Thief (Markus Zusak), The Thirteenth Tale (Diane Setterfield), Glenkill(Leonie Swann), Inkspell (Cornelia Funke)... (I live with books, it seems...)

(Haha! I loved Diana Wynne Jones's works! : D I had so much fun.)
