Hey! I can only explain it how I see it and believe the others are seeing it.

I think people are more angry about it than anything. When using the term "teen" it is often associated to be more child-like and innocent whereas "woman" is more formal and responsible sounding. The media in the heading seems to use these words to make people feel more softly toward the killer by using teen because teen = minor and, generally, minors aren't put on trial as adults. Also they used a picture of the killer happy and smiling instead of his mugshot.

The post is just pointing out how their use of language and image could be seen as an attempt to make people feel a bit sympathetic towards the killer even though he killed a teenager. I'm not sure how old the post is since I'm a 1998 baby myself, and I don't call myself a teen anymore?

I hope that makes sense? Sorry. I have a rough time explaining thing.

but.. I mean, I see how it's a mistake because he isn't a teen, but I don't get why people would prefer a teen killing someone than a "man" (in this case since man is the male equivalent to the female "women") killing someone, a murder is a murder. Also I don't get how people say that they think the photo makes him look good lol, that's kinda hypocritical "oh that murder looks handsome, it's not that bad that he killed someone" or how must I understand that, because I don't even get it with your explanation. So that's why I thought they are joking. I could think of they wanted to use a photo with both of them in it? But that would be kinda macabre even tho it would fulfill the purpose, also I don't he looks that great on the photo, he is barely smilling

no it was a good explanation, but I'm still not sure about the Tumblr Community xD I guess I should keep on avoiding it xD it always triggers me. I get the "we are getting brainwashed by formulations" tho, it's a really complicated topic, buuut for my taste "male supremacy" (or what it tends to be called) is a bit far fetched and kinda smells like conspiracy theory, at the very least the example of this news article is far fetched xD
