Thanks for the good words. I use a piece of black fabric for my backgrounds. I use very bright lights when shooting also, at least 100 watts up to my photoflood which is 500 watts. If you expose for the highest light area on the subject, the background usually fades to deep black. If it doesnt, you can adjust the brightness in PS. Hope that helps.
