I am a scientist with an interest in art, specifically making art from some of my electron microscopy images. I specialise in taking images of biological material with scanning and transmission electron microscopes.

Thanks. I am an electron microscopist and run a facility at Oxford Brookes university. We run a consultancy for anyone interested in using the instruments, but it can get pricey.

Aha! I just had a trip to Stockton Delta College where we (Americanos) train most of our EM techs. They have excellent choice of equipment to train on, but I did not see such outstanding bio samples work. My sincere congrats...

Yeah, that is why I find portraits so much more interesting than natura morta. Incidentally, your ant looks like a dead ringer of a samurai. You have seen Woody Allen's flick about anthropomorphized ants? This one would fit right in as a prime character...
