Damn... I hate to sound like a snotty artist who won't let people use my art, but it's not that i don't want anyone to use it; it's the fact that there is absolutely no creativity in using someone else's image. I'm sorry that this has to come out on you, it has just been happening over and over to me. You were decent enough to ask her to use it, but it wasn't hers to give. It might seem like a small thing for someone to take my avatar, and granted, there and better things to worry about. It is more that I see clearer every time, the hopelessly uncreative art of these internet scenes.
I know that if people are taking my little icon as their own, there are definitely people taking whole images as there own. Please please please have more artistic integrity!!! Draw your own pictures, take your own photos, write your own poem. And if you have to use a part of something -- even as a reference -- make it better than your reference. Improve on the art of today! Don't just copy.
I'm not mad at you. I am just disappointed and frustrated at ease and comfort others find in forging their own creativity by duplicating my art.
I would really really appreciate it if you might help me to ask the girl you got it from to remove it from her site, and also if you would remove it from yours.
