Very decent colors and landcsapes, but you could work on you're human figures.

Hey thanks Raw Mecho - I always thought my character work was my strongest - I've been spending time recently on just doing environment stuff and colour studies but I may get back to some strong character pieces - I'll stick an avatar up - thanks for the watch it's encouraging!

yes i did. It helped a lot. Β I've always been more preoccupied with what looks cool, but you nailed my process pretty well. I do do a rough sketch then i zoom in and paint one element based on reference. It's a bad habit i got to break.Β

Well I was going to - but then you'd moved on (different time zones)! I think someone else mentioned the issue with using small brushes - it's hard to keep value consistent and also to do a smooth light transition over an area. But anyway I had a look at your gallery and it looks to me like you're just experimenting - rather than this being your style as you have plenty of other pieces where you are transitioning well. You know if you haven't already got a decent set of textured brushes I think you could really do with them (just search free oil brush photoshop)

Yea your spot on! I'm just trying new things. And I actually I hardly everΒ use any texture brushes, usually justΒ hard and soft round brushes,Β I REALLY need to start though. I''ll look into some new brushes and see what happens..
