yoo, this is what I meant by "thread". XDĀ
I've mostly enjoyed chatting the past few weeks, so I thought it'd be fun just to start another conversation here. (Of course, participation is voluntary,so up to you.)

Since your on this site, you probably follow a few people, right? Who are your favorites?

My favorite is algenpfleger, but I there's a ton more that I also really like: hakuku, wlop, thuyngan. Then there's another, but she's not on this site.Ā

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

corruptedhelios In reply to lumisse [2015-04-30 20:27:53 +0000 UTC]

Uhh youĀ“re actually giving me the option to gush over my favorite artists *___* Okay i hope you wont regret it.
Quick words about your favs. I follow algenpfleger and wlop and while i really dig algenpflegers works iĀ“m kida letdown by wlop since he only draws the same "perfect" girl archetype with next to no expression again and again. HeĀ“s great at creating great visuals with few strokes, but his style has been getting too predictable as of late.
I didnt know the other 2 but hakuku definitely got an interesting artstyle thats very appealing. Also his/her use of colors and shapes is really cool. thuyngan however... is well, exactly what i love^^ instant watcha nd all that stuff, sheĀ“s really amazing and iĀ“m loving her art. The distinct lighting and the soft shading definitely make her art standout. Lovin it, thanks for sharing^^
Sooooo now to my favs : 3:

Dan Luvisi:
A quite awesome artist who focuses on insane rendering. He also made a giant book full of crazy artwork which i own^^ In terms of pure "art quality" and character design ideas (in visual design and backstory) heĀ“s definitely one of my favorite artists out there

Jiyu Kaze:
Just downright the most ridiculous digital painter iĀ“ve ever seen. His artĀ  has a ridiculous amount of realism to it while still staying "artsy". Basically his artworks look like 3d models which is mainly because he perfected the use of ambient occlusion in 2d. But well he uploads rarely, but when he does goddamn is it a feast for the eye.

Nanfe:
Weirdly enough nanfe is a totally different style of artist. She mainly just draws really edgy anime stlye stuff thats as depressing and "emo" as it can get. But thats kinda why i love her art. ItĀ“s just kinda... "cool" i guess^^

Jonas de Ro:
He simply draws the most amazing landscapes ever. Nothing more and nothing less^^

Chaosfissure:
He makes fractals which are basically computergenerated images, but iĀ“ve never seen someone create such amazing sceneries with that. Most of the time itĀ“s just whirling lines, but damn they turn out ridiculously cool sometimes.

Some others i adore for no specific reason other than their art looks awesome:
-Artgerm
-wataboku
-claparo-sans
-shilesque
-ae-rie
-theDURRRRIAN
-Wojtek Fus

i think that was it

lumisse In reply to corruptedhelios [2015-05-02 02:16:24 +0000 UTC]

Actrually, I don't mind at all XD I got see a lot of new artists I had never noticed before. *__* Lots of superb galleries.

A few notes:
hakuku: Yeah, I find her style refreshing because its so different from what I normally go for (that is, semi-realism). I just really love her use of simple shapes and colors to make impactful illustrations.Ā

wlop: You're right. He does draw the Ghostblade girl a lot, and like quite a few artists, he seems stuck in the same-face-syndrome pit (I'm in there, too, though. Digging myself out... slowly XD). The thing that I like the most about his art, though, is his coloring style. Even it's digital and semi-realistic, I always feel like the edges are soft (without being mushy and undefined) and that colors are... layered on, like pastels. It's hard to describe, but its a look I don't see often with semi-realistic, digital illustration. He's also good with colors and composition, and my favorite of his is "Nightmare". Ā wlop.deviantart.com/art/Nightmā€¦ I also fell in love with his streetscapes.

Now, without further ado, some quick notes from me as well:

Dan Luvisi: -has incredible rendering skills. I liked the "Redemption" folder the best. But seriously, he pays so much attention to detail. Not a single glare, reflection, or texture is missed. His popped culture series is also interesting, and I like the Pooh one (Pooh was a childhood favorite). While the concept is great, it still isn't really my cup of tea.Ā

Jiyuu-Kaze- You weren't joking about his work looking like 3D models! He's completely mastered the art of light and shadow. My favorite from his gallery was "Noctis", but he has some seriously cool mecha work as well.Ā

Nanfe- Actual goth art, bringing out the bit of emo inside all of us. XD Oh, all of a sudden, I was reminded of this illustration.Ā www.deviantart.com/art/Barony-ā€¦ I've always liked it, even though as a magic card, it kinda sucks. For my edgy/flashy anime art, I like shiin (okay, I don't know about edgy but most of her stuff is pretty dynamic) shilin.deviantart.com/ .

Jonas de Ro- THESE ARE WONDERFUL. And they're not just landscapes, but also cityscapes, people, relatable little slices of reality on a canvas. Insta-watch, haha. His lighting and color are superb. Thanks for sharing.Ā

Chaosfissure- Okay, so I always thought fractals were lame, but this guy has just proved me wrong. I've never seen anything like it. I wonder how he does it. Watched him, too.

The others: oh yeah, I've seen these around the web a lot, especially artgerm. XDĀ

Another random one from me: feimo.deviantart.com . I think you'll find that she has the same sort of issue wlop does, but nonetheless, I think it's worth a look. My tops from her:

1. Vampire:Ā feimo.deviantart.com/art/Vampiā€¦ (The use of blue is nice!)
2. Boundry:Ā feimo.deviantart.com/art/boundā€¦

I have more to say, but I'll save it for later. There's already an essay's worth or writing right here.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

corruptedhelios In reply to lumisse [2015-05-04 08:12:49 +0000 UTC]

Yeah wlop certainly has his awesome points. The way he handles his brushstrokes is just masterful in combination with his color usage. And when he decides to do architecture or land/cityscapes in general it never fails to drop my jaw^^ But well, it kinda feels like iĀ“ve already seen all he can do, which is kinda saddening:/
Still an amazing artist^^

I can see Dan Luvisi not being everyones cup of tea, tbh i dont even like the subject material of his drawings (too "american"^^), but well i just love his artstyle and he definitely influenced me into the style that i currently have.
Hm Barony Vampire definitely has a similar vibe to Nanfes stuff. Shilin is actually another case where iĀ“m just like... "ehh". Her Art is amazing and her lighting/coloring as well as posing is just superb, but for some reason i cant bring myself to really "love" her art. ItĀ“s weird.
Oh and btw. i thought exactly the same of fractals before i discovered chaosfissure and well i still kinda think the same of every fractal that isnt his^^

I actually had some of feimos art in my favorites, but decided now to watch her. Well she definitely got the "same face problem" she at least draws different characters and i absolutely love her artstyle so iĀ“m willing to forgive that : D

Uhm iĀ“d really like to add something to this essay, but well iĀ“ll just start with a new question^^
What do you listen to while drawing?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

lumisse In reply to corruptedhelios [2015-05-06 00:39:45 +0000 UTC]

I chuckled at your comment about fractals.

Feimo is really great, no doubt! *__* Her coloring is impossibly smooth.

I was going to complain (?) about a particular artist, but oh man, you've brought up /the/ question. XD
I listen to all kinds of stuff; anything from classical to rock, in a variety of languages, whether I understand them or not. The big three song languages are Japanese, German, and English. I also have a variety of OSTs, game soundtrack, etc.

Japanese- A fraction are anime songs, song miscellaneous songs, character songs (I'm a nerd), and also Vocaloid songs/ Vocaloid covers (it's a big subculture. If you don't know what this is and are curious about it, ask me to explain.)

German- I've been wanting to learn German for a while (and I finally have a chance this summer!), but I decided to download some songs in the meantime. I have no clue what's popular there, so what I listen to might be completely obscure. Miscellaneous bands. tbh, I have a feeling that Europeans mostly listen to American pop. American pop is big in Japan, too. When I went there, they were playing One Direction in the shop I was in, much to my disappointment.

English- Despite being American, I don't listen to mainstream radio stuff that much; we don't play it in the car. But I still pick up some nice tunes here and there. So this is also really eclectic.Ā

I'll send you some links (just 3, so I don't overload you) next time. And now, it's your turn! : D

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

corruptedhelios In reply to lumisse [2015-05-06 18:26:04 +0000 UTC]

ItĀ“s actually kinda funny that you listen to the same languages as i do. All 3 i listen to rather rarely though.

I generally listen to alot of variety of things. Ranging from dubstep to jazz, from orchestreal to metal and from ambience to acapella. But well most of the time i stick to either soundtracks (anime and games mostly), remixes of said soundtracks or just generally, "epic music" which is also my primary music to listen to for drawing. I have this thing where i dislike it when the vocals "overpower" the actual music so the more common music types just arent for me. Metal works pretty well since nobody gives a shit about the vocals there^^
IĀ“m actually german (i dunno if my profile told you that... i think it did^^), but all my listening to german bands dates back a few years at least. For japanese i pretty much listen to only Yousei Teikoku and Ling Tosite Sigure, two rather awesome bands. I do know of vocaloids and the music-culture surrounding them, even if i dont listen to them.

In terms of soundtracks and epic music there is a shitton more though. Epic music is in that case most of the time more or less synonymous with trailer music, even if there is a scene that delivers this kind of stuff to the common music enthusiast. You could look up "Versusmusicofficial"Ā“s Epic-music-compilations to get a grasp. ItĀ“s really great to keep up the spirit while drawing.
IĀ“d like to send you some links to songs, but well... i still dont know how to include links into a message^^

I shall await your songĀ  choices : D

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

lumisse In reply to corruptedhelios [2015-05-17 20:12:56 +0000 UTC]

From you other messages, I found out you were from Germany. ovo I'm surprised actually, because your English is so good! I've studied Chinese for a while, but it's nowhere as good as your English! Please teach me your ways.Ā

If you like epic music, you might like Two Steps from Hell (it's a channel). .w. I don't listen to it much, but my cousin really likes it. I've actually never drawn to "epic" music as you do, but it might actually be really fun! I'll give it shot sometime, when I have time to sit down and paint. Btw, when you send me links, can you send me one of your favorites from Versusmusic and one jazz? They don't have to count as one of your three.

Huh, I tend to like songs with vocals because I like to sing along. XD As for bands, for Japanese I don't really follow any in particular, but I always have good luck with Nightmare, a visual kei band. As for German, I have no clue what's popular, so I just kind of bump around on youtube and collect a few songs from several artists.Ā

Okay, here we are, It was really hard for me to pick three, and these are not necessarily my top 3 ever, but still up there. I tried to /kind of/ match the taste you described, haha.

1. a:FANTASIA (Nightmare, Japanese). Their fashion is always a bit too goth, but I like their songs.Ā www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsCeFxā€¦

2. Biotonic (ani, instrumental). From a rhythm game called "Cytus" (it's addicting.) and this was one of my favorite songs to play. :3Ā www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gm2J__ā€¦

3. WAVE (nikiP, Vocaloid cover, Japanese). Actually, you may not like this one because of the strong vocals, but I had to give it a shot. XD It has a really great flow.Ā www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzUUc8ā€¦ The original vocals were a vocaloid's, but it was later covered by actual people and remixed a little.Ā

Btw, do you have a favorite Fire Emblem Awakening OST? I have a ton, but if I had to choose one it might be Id: Dilemma (www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH_ugEā€¦ ), though Id: Return is a close second.Ā

Can't wait to see your links! Ā

corruptedhelios In reply to lumisse [2015-05-18 19:35:27 +0000 UTC]

Well tbh, my course of studies is in english, the internet is english, half my friends are from different countries, one girl in our group project is american so we speak english there as well. 80% of my life is english speaking at the moment. Heck i even started to dream in english x_x So uhm it kinda comes naturally that you get somewhat good at it i suppose. But thanks for the compliment either way^^ I have tendencies to fuck up while typing so if you see me writing "teh" instead of "the"... well thats why (it happens waaay too often).
In regards to your chinese, well i suppose you just didnt get exposed to enough chinese. Since the internet is english speaking i got exposed to english almost every day for the past 5 years or so. Listening to podcasts in other languages is also a great way to learn a language passively.

Two Steps from Hell isnt a channel. They are a group of 2 composers who make epic music. TheyĀ“re the most well known guy in the genre so theyĀ“re nothing new to me^^ (they actually were the first group i listened to in regards to epic).
Maybe iĀ“m such a weird case in terms of vocals because i play drums. IĀ“m very rythm based in everything, so i guess humming the melody of a song is my way of "singing along". I actually didnt have anything to sing along to in a loooong time. Rather weird actually.
Onto reactions toy our songs : 3

I liked the Nightmare song. IĀ“m not too fond of the guys voice (too deep imo), but it had a really nice flow and i quite enjoyed the level of "metalness" they had. Not too crazy, but nice and melody focused. Pretty great : )
Biotonic was a bit weird. If you imagine a game to that i can see why you think of it that highly, but on itĀ“s own itĀ“s a bit... empty?! Like itĀ“s fast and loud and full of action, but the song never changes or does anything interesting. itĀ“s cool, but i enjoy some more standout elements in my songs (maybe something weird to say as youĀ“ll see by my picks later^^).
I actually liked the vocaloid thing alot more than i expected to. Was very high energy and the voice sounds were actually pretty cool. However it is a song to dance to... and well thats not really my type^^

So now to my choices : 3 (Ah how i love it to throw my taste in music into other peoples faces)

1. Epic Score, for all eternity: www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDnpZdā€¦
Probably my favorite song ever. It doesnt quite have the uniqueness or amazingness of a truly superb song, but for some reason i always go back to this one on repeat while drawing. it just evokes this feeling of "endlessness" and "vastness". I just love it^^

2. Two Steps from Hell, Cannon in D minor: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XX8-35ā€¦
A technically much better "epic" song. One of the best ones iĀ“ve ever heard and truly a masterpiece. If i ever feel unmotivated this is the song to put me into the "get shit done" phase again : )

3. Ling Tosite Sigure, Beautiful Circus: de.musicplayon.com/play?v=1716ā€¦ (have to use this site cause youtube doesnt have it)
One of the best uplifitng songs iĀ“ve ever had and probably my favorite metal song as well. I listen to alot more western metal (mostly stuff like trivium or heaven shall burn if youĀ“re interested), but this band always stuck me with their approach to music.

And since you requested some jazz : 3
4. Till Brƶnner, Blue Eyed Soul www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1V6dQā€¦
Yeah some nice jazz. Together with some tea it makes for a relaxing drawing atmosphere.

Also for favorite fire emblem track, well: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWO4ffā€¦
ItĀ“s a bit of a clichee choice, but well this and "chaos ablaze" are my favorites. This song especially just has all the feels that so many other songs are missing : )

So uhm thats it in terms of music. If you want to i can spam you ALOT more music : 3 but i shall restrain myself for now^^

lumisse In reply to corruptedhelios [2015-05-21 07:34:23 +0000 UTC]

A reply after more days of waiting XD

Ā

Oh, that makes a lot of sense! (Do you ever wonder if German/ other European languages will die out eventually because of English? Especially German though, because English and German are in the same language family.) I think the best way to learn a language is to be completely immersed in it, rather than learning from textbooks/ worksheetsā€¦ which hardly works well for me. Iā€™m learning Japanese at school right now, but I learned the most in this one short period of 4 weeks were I studied in Japan with basically 0 English. Those four weeks were basically equivalent to 1 half- whole year in a classroomful of unmotivated students. ^^

Ā

Iā€™m glad you found something to like in most of the songs. I really like deep vocals, actually, but I donā€™t think I dislike any tone in particular.

Ā

You play the drums? Is it just a single drum or a whole set? I only play(ed) piano, so I have no clue what itā€™s like to play the drums. Do you compose your own music, too?

Ā

About Two Steps from Hell- whoops. I am now properly informed.

----

Ā

Now down to other business (and who doesnā€™t like to throw their music in other peopleā€™s faces??? I completely concur.)

Ā

Ā Ā Ā Ā 1.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  That was a great score. It sounds so vast and powerful. I attempted to listen to it while doing homework, but it didnā€™t work. I just had to sit there and listen the first time around. It has thisā€¦ swelling feeling, as if something big is coming. I like it!

Ā Ā Ā Ā 2.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Also very nice! As soon as it started playing, I could imagine a little foot soldier running through ranks of other warriors, past tangles of lances and fighting, driven and focused on some light ahead. (What do you see? Do you see anything?) I just had a thought: sometimes I wonder if weā€™ll ever run out of epic music scores or different kinds of tunes for music, but I suppose not. Thereā€™ll always be another epic tune, waiting to be discovered. That somehow feels reassuring (have I lost you yet?).

Ā Ā Ā Ā 3.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  That was interesting. Actually, when you first mentioned the band, I went to Youtube and looked them up. I like this song better than the one I found. When I say ā€œinterestingā€, Iā€™m not saying it out of politeness; Iā€™ve actually havenā€™t heard anything comparable to this style. Iā€™m not in love with it, but it feels like something I might like a lot if I listened to it a several times (again, Iā€™m telling the truth.Ā  A lot of my favorites were actually songs I initially disliked strongly).

Ā Ā Ā Ā 4.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  Hm, this was different from what I expected because I expected fewer squeaky noises (thatā€™s not the right word, but I donā€™t know the correct one). This was just so-so for me, sorry.

Ā Ā Ā Ā 5.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  OKAY THATā€™S A GREAT CHOICE. I actually havenā€™t heard all the OSTs because I just click around the sidebar and listen to the long extensions while working. But for some reason, I find this really motivating, so I listened to it while I was doing my lit homework. Super awesome. Chaos ablaze isnā€™t too clichĆ©; I think Id (purpose) is, though that doesnā€™t counter the fact that I still think itā€™s quite good.

Ā

Feel free to send other favorites, slowly though. XD As you can see, Iā€™m not always the fastest replier. And I also think we should separate the top and bottom of these comments into separate posts because each of our responses literally takes an entire page on my word processor (yes, Iā€™m typing it in word so I donā€™t lose my progress and have to retype everything if something goes wrong). If youā€™d like to break this into separate parts, the line of dashes above is where I would recommend to separate things.Ā

Okay on to part 2 : )

Wow iĀ“m really surprised you liked my songs this much^^ And i feel a bit bad that i didnt come up with so much interesting stuff to say about your songs.
1-2. - Epic music actually isnt that great for homework since you need to concentrate on homework and epic music is doign everything but strengthening your focus^^ But for drawing it works incredibly well since i dont need to concentrate for it, i just draw and let my imagination run wild. And if epic music can do one thing really well, itĀ“s kicking your imagination into overdrive.
3. - In regards to Ling Tosite Sigure, well the band actually only has itĀ“s older songs on youtube since the newer albums got released in the west (and thus are copyrighted). It makes it kinda hard showing their true potential to people since their best songs arent on youtube. I actually needed alot of listens to totally warm up to them, but damn was it worth it. Probably one of my favorite bands ever by now. I jsut love their distinct stlye... and well iĀ“ve been rambling for too logn over ling tosite^^ IĀ“m really glad you like them though.
4. - Dont worry baout not liking the jazz i send you. ItĀ“s a weird variety of it thats actually not too common in jazz, but sadly itĀ“s the only concrete interpret i listen to (the other times i just listen to random playlists on youtube).
5. - I actually have the whole soundtrack on my pc/ipod, but yeah ā€žchaos ablazeā€œ, ā€ždont speak her nameā€œ and maybe ā€ždutyā€œ and ā€žid Hopeā€œ are the songs that really give me the ā€žfire emblem feelingā€œ. Though i meant ā€ždont speak her nameā€œ with clichee since from what iĀ“ve gathered most fire emblem fans have this as their favorite track, so uhm props for having such an unusual choice! Though definitely a great one.
On the topic of that, have the two aforementioned songs : 3

Dont worry about not replying too fast, i know that there is always stuff thats simply more important to take care of than writing a random internet guy^^
I actually write ā€žlettersā€œ with other people as well and with one guy weĀ“re down to a monthly letter simply because by now theyĀ“ve become 4 pages long >___< (thats why i prefer skype^^).
But uhm iĀ“ll try to spam you music as slowly as possible, so since you already got 2 fire emblem songs, iĀ“ll just give you these two as well since theyĀ“re something a bit different than the other stuff i send you and you might like them: 3

Also feel free to send me more of your music, iĀ“m always interested : )

Omg, yes, I finally have a chance to reply to the music post!Ā  Huzzah!

Donā€™t worry about not replying more extensively about my music posts. You think what you think, so no need to make up anything extra~

3- Ling Tosite Sigure really does have a distinct style, and I think thatā€™s a strength. There are a lot of bands in the pop genre (or in general, actually) that have really similar styles. For example, most Japanese boy bands lean towards an upbeat, almost cutesy style that Iā€™m not a huge fan of. And itā€™s okay to ramble; theyā€™re of your favorites so it would perfectly natural to have more to say.

By the way, is it ā€œLing Tosite Sigureā€ or ā€œLing Toshite Shigureā€? As far as I know, the Japanese language has no ā€œSiā€ sound.Ā

5- Why do I feel that Iā€™m not fully appreciating these tracks until you pointed them out individually to me? Like, I never really noticed some things until other people specifically link them to me, but when they do, Iā€™m just like ā€œwow, these are so good! Why didnā€™t I notice earlier??ā€ I like Id Hope, but Iā€™m not too sure about Duty. Not because Duty is a bad track, itā€™s just that I associate it a lot to nervousness and my units dying, hyaha. RIP me in Lunatic mode. ;__;

6- Tesseract: Not bad for the electronic genre. While there are a few exceptions, itā€™s not usually my thing.

7- Takedown: Okay, so this was cool. Even though the lyrics didnā€™t change much, it had a nice beat/flow and it is really fun to jam to. I was kind of headbanging in my seat, lol.

8- Thanks for being open to my song choices, too. ^^ I kind of have another song for you. American rock, I suppose: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRkIQ1ā€¦ I have a few of this bandā€™s songs on my phone, haha. Ā

Thanks for being understanding about my slow replies. Itā€™s mostly because I have a lot to say back, but I canā€™t bring myself to type it all at once, pfft. Sometimes I write my stuff piece by piece and save my progress in a doc.

4 page letters?! Thatā€™s a whole lot of writing, but it must be fun.

I think it is actually pronounced "Ling Toshite Shigure", however the version with "si" is the official spelling on itunes so i was under the assumption it was the correct tone. But well thanks for the correction.
I also like them mainly because they are so different to what i normally listen to. I guess if i were into more japanese bands i maybe wouldnt think as highly of them, but as someone mainly exposed to western metal as the closest genre to that, the difference in terms of screaming makes Ling Tosite just really special to me.

Haha i experience that often that i only realize how much i like a certain track after i pay specific attention to it. This is especially true with the fire emblem ost as many of the songs go unnoticed as they are battle versions of existing themes or generally just appear once.
Oh and thanks for the reminder that i still need to finish my lunatic run, now that the projects over i can finally do that

I dont quite know what to think of the skillet song. I was pretty nice to listen to, but some of the lyrics and singing bothered me. i liked it, but it wasnt something iĀ“d put on my ipod as to say. But than again iĀ“m really not a fan of this type of music, so considering that it was great : )

I dont really know what to send back in terms of music, so in order to keep the train rolling have this piece of music:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNDv7kā€¦
ItĀ“s one of my favorite "epic" music songs and probably one of the only ones that ever brought tears in my eyes.

IĀ“m generally more someone who writes everything on the spot as i tend to loose my trains of thought when i save and continue to work later. So thats also why iĀ“m now responding to everything in one go^^

ah that's fine. ^^ I think in general, our tastes in music clash, though I like the ambiance music you send me.

Do you know what I hate? That links in dA don't open in a separate tab. >:C Ā alkdfkajĀ

This new one is really nice, and I like the parts before the vocals kick in the most. ^^ The artist chose an interesting title. My favorites from the ones you sent me is still "For all eternity", though. Sometimes I listen to it on loop.Ā
Ā
It reminds me a bit of these pieces by a Nordic (I mean from Norway) band called Wardruna. My friend sent me these. They were really different from my usual, I like them, especially the second one. Their songs have to do a lot with traditional legends.Ā

Sorry I'm so slow with the backlog XD I'm starting to write college essays again.Ā

The nordic music is amazing *_* Really liked it! And iĀ“ll definitely try to find more of the artist (which isnt all that hard thanks to youtube recommendations^^). ItĀ“s definitely something different and well... just really nice to listen to.

IĀ“m glad you like at least some of my stuff and iĀ“m surprised, because "for all eternity" is probably my favorite track ever (thought hat changes occasionally). IĀ“m also a big fan of putting this kind of music on loop, it makes for a relaxing and monotone atmosphere which is good to work with. I often loose my sense of time while drawing when i listen to such music on repeat. ItĀ“s pretty great : )

You can open da links (and any links really) in a new tab by pressing control and than clicking or just simply clicking with your mousewheel. IĀ“ve made it a habit to just press control everytime i open a link.

Also the nordic music in turn kind of reminded me of Child of Lights aesthetic, so have one of itĀ“s wonderful scores:

Dont worry about taking your time to reply. I mean of course iĀ“d like you to answer as soon as possible, egoistic as i am, but college is important.

Yay! I'm glad you liked it. It's got a lot of power to it. I like their album "Yggdrasil", so that's a good place to start.

You're right about the Child of Lights, though it's a bit lighter and cuter than Wardruna. They both have that echoey resonance, though. It's a nice track.Ā

Psssh, that's not called egoistic, that's called wanting to have a proper conversation. I always look forward to your replies as well, but of course, there's no pressure for you to reply right away, either. It's as you please!Ā

"but of course, there's no pressure for you to reply right away,"
... damn i abused this inexistant pressure to itĀ“s maximum considering how long it took me to respond to this respectively small letter^^

IĀ“ve listened to some more Wadruna and iĀ“m really liking them, they work great as inspirational background music when i dont know what else to listen to.

Actually the child of light soundtrack, while overall alot lighter can still be really intense. ItĀ“s just that generally speaking "Off to sleep" is the song thats the easiest for people tog et. Most of the songs are obviously made to resonate with the visuals present. To be honest the only similarity between this and wadruna is that they offer a similar northern atmosphere, but are kind of supernatural, but they do it in completely different ways. So theyĀ“re somehow similar while being vastly different^^

Haha thank you for understanding. IĀ“ve been a bit dead in terms of socializing the past week, but i hope to be back to old strengths now : )
Hope youĀ“re having fun in germanyland.

Yes, I keep listening to just the three for Wardruna: Fehu, Helvegen, and Rotlaust Tre Fell (www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I1Onxā€¦ )

*Looks at own backlog* I'm.... also very slow. XDĀ

I looked a bit through everything they got, but i always find myself going back to the full yggdrasil album. The songs there have a nice way of embeddign themselves into your mind. ItĀ“s like when i want this kind of music i always think of the yggdrasil songs. So thats what i end up listening to^^

To be honest, take your time, i think i said that before, but you have more important stuff to do than writing some random online dude : )

Yggdrasil is everything I listen to. XD Bless the person who put the album up there, though I'm really considering getting it myself. Do you know it well enough to handpick a favorite? (as you know, mine are Helvegen and Fehu.) I should probably expand and try some of their other albums, though.Ā
