I'm lunacyandme - I started out as an anime fan, then got interested in Harry Potter series, after which, I loved Harry/Luna to bits.I draw when I get inspired, and I really want to be an author someday.

It's kinda sad, how the build-up for H/G was... weak. It would've been a much more likeable pairing if not for the build-up... >_>

Seriously, I wonder what happened....she built up Ron and Hermonie perfectly....but the MAIN CHARACTER can't have a perfect build up?????

I understand how you feel. It was pastede on, seriously. Although I couldn't say that R/H was perfect, it was a gazillion times better than the hack that was H/G. Not to mention the complete bastardization of Ginny's character who seemed sweet yet had guts in the first four books... then in book 5, BAM! >_> Disappointment, really.

Well in terms of her other romance...the RonxHermonie build up was perfect.
You could argue it was set up from DAY 1 (or book one) Me growing up on Pokemon with AshxMisty on the brain...I of course figured RonxHermonie was gonna be a done deal.
I saw Cho and Harry having a doomed romance as a book 5, she was too broken after Cedric, and it's obvious she didn't want to stay with Harry because it wasn't fair to him.
Ginny faded into the background after book 2, and any reference to her crush fizzled away from the obvious text for readers to see....Rowling made it appear Ginny grew up and moved on.
So obviously when Luna appeared-a girl who can see things that only her and Harry can see...I naturally assumed that she might of been set up as a potential future love interest...plus they got along well and played nicely off each other. Rowling had to go and rub salt in the wound by having Harry take Luna on that date in book 6-only to end up with Ginny! D:<

RonxHermione was the best romance she actually wrote, right?
You and I had the same thought regarding Luna. They were just so... connected with each other by the end of OotP, that I had dismissed almost other Harry pairings. Yes too, that date. >_> As much as I loved the date itself, I hate that Luna just got there cause Ginny couldn't be his partner. >_>
