Hi there I submitted a painted model to the infantry contest and it might have been overlooked since it wasn't in the right folder - when I submitted it the infantry folder hadn't been created yet so I was just hoping you could move it to the correct folder.
Here is a link - [link]

Also, if possible, do not allow members to submit to the newly created folders we will filter them manually, much more organised that way.

I was not aware that there were any new folders, let alone any that members have complete access to, I will scroll through the folder manager a make sure that they are all set properly.

i meant if you make one, but since i made one, nevermind Just edit the journal so that people submit into featured regulary, they just have to somehow note us that it's for the contest - either via note, or in the submission process or something

errr.. where is the poll wich was supposed to go PRIOR to any contest? o.O

madhouse-exe In reply to gdpr-1688292 [2010-12-04 07:52:05 +0000 UTC]
Indeed, but after looking at the poll that was up "Single representative non-character infantry model" had as many votes as the last contest so I thought I'd just save a little time and go with that. Yes I'm making a new poll, but the non-character contest would have won or scored very high in all likelihood so...

I'm not going to lie, I've gotten lots of FW stuff and they are tricky, be prepared to deal with a lot of flashing, and some warped-edges, both fairly easy to deal with lots of how tos around for both issues, but I find one of the frustrating things is preparing (cleaning) the models for painting, the coating they use for removing the models from the moulds can be a female dog to get off! Get an old toothbrush and clean them all for several minutes each, and use a primer, either the base coat GW stuff or just the spray kind you get at hardware stores (thatβs what I use). Any other questions just ask.

There are always other options such as the Calgary comic expo, Otafest, Fallcon and others that I can't think of right now.

Hey! Thanks a lot! I looked through some of the stuff you've got up. Wow. I LOVE that Land Raider. Do you do work with the models or just painting and have someone else, because I'm pretty sure some of those are in no way GW, haha.

Thanks! and no it's just me, I do everything from start to finish, I tend to modify most of my minis in some way or another, I like making them my own.

I completely feel you on that. Uusually I just do something with the stock GW models, but I'll occasionally do something a little different like use left-over bits to build and paint a Darth Vader-esque Librarian, or with my soon-to-come mounted High Elf Mage, I had to bend part of his robes to fit on the horse/take the flaming sword bit and chop it off in the blade and replace the blade on the right arm because the flaming sword was a left arm bit.

I've had one that's still in its box and wrapped. I may have to take a page from your book and give him a cool pose with his blade.

If it's an old one like my guy, he doesn't have a sword, I made one that sits in the extra weapon slot on his back out of plastic card and those sword toothpicks you get at restaurants.

No kidding from the angle it looks pretty awesome! Would it be too much to ask for a closer look at the blade?

It's going to get paint soon, so when I put the pic's up, I will be careful to get a couple of shots of the sword individually just for you.
