I can't tell if this is a joke or not, as it's Aprils fools, but that bit about the hermits was mostly sarcasm.

I was planning on getting a bigger following to be able to sale merch. That's about all. I'm trying to save up to move out. Otherwise, if I didn't need the money I would just draw as a hobby only.

I'd poke around projects and job offer forumsΒ if you have the time. Sometimes it's better to ride someone's coat tails before you start on you're own. It could be more lucrative until you get a following. You're stating off pretty strong though, so I'm sure you'll figure it out!

Braver than me for sure, only using ballpoint pen and no pencil. Quickly sketched art can have some interesting results when you're all devil-may-care about it and just see where those lines go. It's hard to explain I guess. Ever thought about adding color to more of it? I'd love to see what you could do with a set of art markers or watercolor or whatever else. Your nature drawings turn out pretty cool by the way.Β

Yeah, I've been working on backgrounds. They've been a weak point for me, so I thought I'd do something about it. As for the bravery, it's more just not being bothered to find a sharp pencil. Or a working eraser for that matter.

I got the same problem. I decided to just do a bunch to get used to them. Seems to have worked. I need to figure out a way to do oceans in black and white though.

Water is easier with paint due to it's textures. Skies are harder for me.Β

I've done okay ones with colored pencils or something a while ago, but it's a lot harder with black and white. You're trying to draw what isn't there with that, rather than what is, so I've been trying to focus on the glare and contrast. I'll need to look at what other people do though, as it's not working out too well. I'm missing a texture or something, and the fact that IΒ have seen the sea only once before when I was three-ish doesn't help.Β Skies are actually pretty easy with monochrome. Just time consuming with pencils and such. Basically, you do the contrast thing, darker the higher up youΒ get,Β and erase where you want clouds.

LaMantraMori In reply to man-among-men [2019-02-02 18:53:07 +0000 UTC]
I haven't used colored pencils in years. They're not my best media. You really have to layer them so no white shows through, and you can only layer so much. If I wanted to draw stylized clouds in pen, I suppose that would work, but for realism I need something spreadable like smudging pencil or paints.Β

Strangely, I can't paint worth sh*t, and pencils are less messy and similar-ishΒ in price. I'm working on using digital to do things more though. It's coming along.

LaMantraMori In reply to man-among-men [2019-02-04 03:06:50 +0000 UTC]
Pencil's are quite messy when you're doing shading and blending and it gets on your hand. Paint just involves learning to control the water to paint ratio.Β

Ah. That might be the problem there. I'll have to try it out again if I ever get room for that.

"Beware of killer rabbits"?Β Did I get that right?Β :J
- - -
A long time ago, while watching one of the best movies evarrr made . . . .
"That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!"
(...)
"That rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide! It's a killer!"
(...)
"He's got huge, sharp-- eh-- he can leap about-- look at the bones!"
(...)
"Have we got bows?" "No." "What do we have?" "We have a Hulk-- sorry, ehh-- the Holy Hand Grenade" "Of course! (...) and Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that, with it, Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits in Thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruit bats and large chu-- ehh-- and the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three. No more. No less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.' " "Amen." π: 0 β©: 1

I often try to make pop culture references, but then realize that no one knows what I'm referencing, and my life suddenly feels miserable. I'm all old games and niche series! I can either talk to people about marvel, and blow them away with my knowledge of the silver age, or recommend an anime with more plot threads than a vector graphed sweater assembly! At least my entire extended family is the same way, I'm not sure how we individually live to be honest.

Here's an idea for a pic:
An alternate ending to the Genocide route where Chara/Frisk teams up with Flowey to fight Sans, rather than go one-on-one.
π: 0 β©: 1
man-among-men In reply to YangIsCool [2018-03-21 07:34:06 +0000 UTC]
While that would be fun, I'm not sure that the characters would work that way. I have a weird thing where I try to keep away from fan fiction. The reason being that I refuse to modify characters that are already established, as I feel like its almost disrespectful. I always try to put the characters first in a story, and honestly, Flowey is a bit of a coward.Β Even if he solves puzzles for you throughout the genocide run , he only caters to us after we defeat every other monster and realizes he's next. Also, Chara doesn't seem like one to team up with anyone.Β That said, I likely will do a Photoshop Flowey/Asriel Dreemurr. Normal Flowey would be fun too, I just thought I'd stick to boss forms. I was planing on doing him latter, but I could try to do it within the next week or so if your interested? You are the first person to request something to me so I would love to make something for you. Undyne verses Asgore is also something that has happened if you want to see that. It would be interesting to try and make that.
π: 0 β©: 1
YangIsCool In reply to man-among-men [2018-03-21 13:06:55 +0000 UTC]
Sure, Flowey's a coward, but he's also shown to be rather smart. And the smart thing would have been to team up with Chara/Frisk rather than destroy Asgore's soul and proving he's completely useless.
As for Chara, I feel like they would if they felt like it would be more beneficial to team up rather than scare Flowey off.
π: 0 β©: 1
man-among-men In reply to YangIsCool [2018-03-21 17:07:44 +0000 UTC]
Β Sticking with your original concept then? I guess it's not quite imposable. I would rather do a cannon piece, but let's try and plot this out. Now normal Flowey is not very mobile. Not to mention he is probably pretty weak. Aside from attack power(19 points damage, judging by his first encounter), I don't think he would have all that much for hit points or defense due to his soulless nature. So, if he goes against Sans, he would have to out smart him, while staying out of sight. Which is not going to be easy, as Sans is probably in the top three most brilliant monsters(counting Alphys and Asgore). One way I think he could try and help is by using vines to try and trap Sans, allowing Frisk/Chara to land a blow. But, I'm not sure he could really do that effectively as Sans can teleport. I guess at the end of the day, the question is, do you want Sans to be seen as overwhelmed? Or over powered? I't would be tricky to make a scene where they are all contributing, but none are being taken down.
π: 0 β©: 1
YangIsCool In reply to man-among-men [2018-03-21 17:23:07 +0000 UTC]
Overwhelmed.
The way I imagine the final blow being struck is exactly how you said, with Flowey managing to trap him in his vines so Frisk/Chara can land that blow.
