I am sorry for not responding sooner, but I neglected my email for a while. Thank you so much for your kind words. The Navy dropped the "PH" Photomate rating and replaced it with the Mass Communication Specialist "MC" name due to technical advances in photography and video.

I love your time lapse work, and I have the same camera as you do (I think...) a Canon EOS Digital Rebel. but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do time lapses... it doesnt seem to be a feature that is easily found or manipulated...

could you please help me out?

Turn the exposure knob to very slow speeds or bulb. Use a tripod and shutter cable. If you have no cable, you can use your camera timer to avoid shaking the camera.
Use manual focus and a small aperture (f/11 & up), and shoot different time exposures of each picture to ensure a good capture.

i was checking out my profile and your photo came up on the top right hand side.. i thought what.. what is this!? well it is 6 in the morning. It didn't take me too long to finally realise its an ad. i checked it out cos I liked night time photography.
