Do you have any tips for people starting to do comics~? I've been getting better at drawing scenes and multiple people in one place, and I kinda wanna try my hand at a comic. I mean, I've read all sorts of resources on the actual mechanics--page layout, materials, etc. But do you have any actual artistic advice, like on inking, coloring, anatomy in panels, etc?

I have a lot of resources that I look to, but I think the best pieces of advice I can give you are pretty simple. The most important are have the courage to suck and just keep practising. What I mean by that is if you're going to work on a comic, don't get too caught up in making it perfect. When you're starting out, you ARE going to be dissatisfied with a lot of your pages. You can't keep redoing them and/or restarting your comic. A lot of people leave off and start new ones thinking the next one they start will go better and easier for them. It won't. You just have to get the work done and be okay with feeling like some of the stuff sucks. It's cool. You'll improve. This is especially true with backgrounds. If you're not used to drawing them in comics, do it ANYWAY. They WILL look better the more you do them. Just keep drawing shitty ones until they look good.
Onto more practical stuff, there's a lot of stuff that will keep you from losing motivation. First, make a basic outline of your story. It doesn't have to be detailed and you can ALWAYS change stuff later. Next, break the story up into 'chapters' in your mind. I like to make me chapters about 15-20 pages of comic. Then I take out some copy paper and do thumbnails of each page. Stick figures for the characters, basic sketches for environments, and dialogue. This helps me layout the panels and everything quickly without losing sight of the big picture, and if I don't like the way it flows, I can easily edit it. For each main character, you should make a cheat sheet. Do sketches of them in several positions, and make a comparison chart of your characters' heights. They don't have to be great drawings, but this will help you keep proportions, hair, eyes, facial stuff all consistent.
Then the real work starts. But because of how much you've prepared yourself, it's not going to be as hard as it would have been if not. There are a lot of different ways to colour and ink, and there are a lot of different tutorials and stuff on how to do that. The best thing you can do for anatomy is drawing from life, drawing from stock photos, and learning about the body through artistic anatomy books. I like one especially called Atlas of Human Anatomy for the Artist by Stephen Rogers Peck, and you should also check out Andrew Loomis--a lot of his resources are online. Go to youtube and look up Sycra, too. His videos are fantastic and his advice can really be applied to any medium and style.
I recommend having an art blog or tumblr where you post all of your daily practice sketches so you can keep up with your progress. If you want critique that is actually USEFUL and HELPFUL, consider getting an account on conceptart.org and posting your sketches there. I have found that helps a lot.
I hope what I've said helps. If you ever have any questions about how I have done a specific piece of art or what materials I use or anything, please feel free to ask. I know this is all pretty broad advice, so let me know if you have any more specific questions.

Hey! This is Alex from AZ.
Finally found the card with your name on it. I was terrified I had lost it and I would never get to speak to you again. Although, that fear is a bit over dramatic.
Anyway~ Glad to see you on DA! I love your art.
