Just when I thought angel themed gundam, internet brought me here.... One hell of a work, especialy the 3D ones, you even skin them! Building one on paper is hard enough and you made it in 3D! Well done

Thank you very much my friend It's actually not too hard to make some 3d stuff. And, it's really interesting making something for your own

Really? I need 13 minutes to make a basic chair in 3D. Now I'm designing a gundam on paper only to fail on the transformation part.... I cannot imagine making one on 3D for now, can you give me tips on transformation part??
π: 0 β©: 1
masarebelth In reply to StealthTallyFox [2015-05-17 13:17:58 +0000 UTC]
I think you can start from the transforming method. Make a plan of it, and put some simple objects like cubic and cylinders in the right places to indicate the major parts of the robot. Key some frames for the robot form and non-robot form of the imagined robot, then develop the detailed shape of the major parts mainly based on the non-robot form. Check and improve the both forms when you modelling! It maybe tough work, to get a acceptable mech model may take lots of hours.

You use SolidWorks? That's awesome! That gives me some hope for my dream of one day creating a Gundam in Inventor. Keep up the good work, man.

Yahh man, I've compared CADs like solidworks/inventor/creo , Β Nurbs platform like rhinoceros, also polygon platforms, I think if you design something originally step by step, a feature-based modelling method is way better. & believe me, using CAD softs to design mechs much like doing concept art, and it's in a more detailed way than traditional.Β
& to differences between softs, maybe I didnot use much on the softs, but Β I think creo lines are not very free and flexible, inventor is cool but seemed a little limited on surface modelling...

Hello. I was looking through your gallery and scraps, and noticed that two of your older artworks on a black and red Gundam picture were missing. I can't seem to find it. Do you know what happened to it?

HiοΌ seems you mentioned Gundam Uriel. But I put quite lots picture of this, I don't know which one was missing?

R501 In reply to masarebelth [2014-04-12 14:42:51 +0000 UTC]
My bad. To be more specific, it was an old drawing of a black and red Gundam that was drawn in a rather large, almost "muscular" for lack of a better word, in a way that made it look more like a super robot than a Gundam, and I think it was described to look like a classic villain out of a super robot anime. I believe it was drawn similar to this picture of yours, but was red and black instead; masarebelth.deviantart.com/artβ¦

Thank you very much my friend
And I say you're awesome in pixiel art , which I've also had interset but I didnot know how to manage them...
So may I ask you how to make some pixiel art, to make each block with planned and exact color? I tried to shrink my illustrations, and add some mosaic filter, but that sucks
π: 0 β©: 1
Cecihoney In reply to masarebelth [2013-07-24 05:29:06 +0000 UTC]
Hi hi feel quite honored you like my art too -^.^- so thankies!
As for pixelart, there is the true pixelart, for that I use GraphicsGale (it is free unless you want animated gifs, then you must pay, but its cheap anyway). There I just zoom in enough to see the pixels as big squares (it still has a preview window showing the unzoomed image).
The cool things about that software is that it combines the pixel tolls from ms paint (drawing and line tools project pixel lines instead of vector lines which convert to pixels later on like photoshop ). So I just use line tool for short lines and fill tool for painting the areas XD
Now converting big images to look like pixelart, well once I need planets or nebulas to look pixelated I just open the big versions, made with brushes on photoshop and just go to edit> mode> indexed color
There I chose pallette > local perceptual, and on color number I reduce it bu a lot, usually between 12 and 24 so photoshop will try to pixelate the image for you to reproduce it with less colors, but still same overall look
Hope those tips help, feel free to ask anything you didnΒ΄t understand
And thankies for watching!

masarebelth In reply to Cecihoney [2013-07-25 00:59:23 +0000 UTC]
Ya thank you! ;D I've downloaded GraphicsGale, I saw I can paint pixels in exact color but I think to make some pixel art would be still a hard work!
And to color swatches, I've also considered to limit the colors of shrinked picture in that way, but seems automatically calculated stuff is always out of my control
