I like the perspective of the shot and your B/W image with splashes of color for accent!

Bittesehr, fuer dieses Fav!
I remember sailing on a 33' long (10 meters) Pearson on the Chesapeake Bay one summer and this picture reminds me of it! It's amazing how she can turn to a different heading if you aren't careful!! I was coming around a point in the bay when the wind shifted instantaneously, and before I knew it, facing the wrong way!!
Es hatte viel Spass!!
Thanks for the memory!
Tschuess!

Hey Maund, Thank you for the comment. If you've been thinking about doing a detailed drawing then i would like to suggest a technique. Not too many people are aware of this technique because It is an older out of date and extremely time consuming technique. But i think it is very fun to work in this way because it gives you a whole new perspective on drawing. But anyways it's Carbon dusting, this is how my beetle was done. if you are interested then i can give you the details. As for the scanner....I attend the Cleveland Institute of art and i think the largest scanner we have is around seventeen inches so as far as i know that is as large as they come. I'm sure there are some exceptions out there, but i'm not aware of them. Work that is that large most of the time needs to be taken in slide form. Judging from your Photography, which is amazing by the way and i'd like to talk more about later, you probably have a nice camera and perhaps lighting equipment. Sunlight works just fine, but adjust your camera accordingly and shoot away. That would be my advice.

Ethan:
No, Tamron... I am trying it out today. so far I like it. I'm going to try some sports shots this afternoon and see how that works. I'm not much for that, but I wanna try it to see how I do. I'll push the exposure to 1600 so that the shutter speed is fast enough to eliminate blurring. I was also looking at the Canon 75-300 with Image Stabilization (IS version), but it was $450 versus this one at $149 I couldn't resist the price difference (since it also has the macro setting). The minimum focus in macro is about 3 feet. The IS would only help by about two stops anyway. I would like to do an experiment to see the difference between IS and non-IS...
Unfortunately, my film cameras are old, so I can't use this lens on them (Minolta X-700) & Yachicamat Twin Lens (120 format)...
Regarding the 300d, I have been waiting for something like that for a long time (ergo, just look at how old the Monolta is... ha ha). So far, I really love it. I need to get much more familiar with it yet, but I like the film SLR feel to it. Changing ASA/ISO speeds, etc... I'm still getting used to not worrying about "wasting" film with this... I was always very choosy about what I took because of this.... Now, with a 1 gig card, I can get hundreds even at full res Tif format!! I think that for the price, you can't beat it; specifically because of the interchangeable lens feature, which I can't see not having...
I'll let you know how I do at the sports thing today , (maybe I'll put some in the scrap area for your to see...
