oh that's great to hear!!
i've been okay, i've been missing a lot of school lately (health issues) so i'm kinda struggling to get caught up?? but regardless it's been pretty ok!! i went to a few different countries this summer and right now i'm doing volunteering for the library and an animal shelter :'D
what kind of classes are you taking this year?? o:

aww, but it's good ur managing well !
ooh what countries did you visit?? i went to america for the first time this summer
i need to start volunteering whoops
and im taking computer science, art and communcations tech (like media arts meets business?) as my electives

haha thanks
oooh where'd you go?? o: what'd you think about it??
and i went to China, Japan, and Singapore. it was really hot though (except for japan the weather there is like here in my state) x_x; i get moles on my skin if i'm exposed to too much sun so i try to hide from it as much as possible but it's hard to when you're travelling during the summer ;;" aha i'm such a baby lol
volunteering is fun though!! it's especially fun when you get a friend to do it with you. then at least you have someone to talk with while doing more mundane tasks aha ;;
oooh that sounds super fun!! o:

i went to new york, new jersey, washington dc, virginia, philidelphia.. a lot of places but we mainly stayed in new jersey and new york
it was pretty fun! except v tiring lol ,,,Β
we did a lot of touristy stuff esp in the last three places. i wanted to shop more but i only got like 5 things (with the canadian dollar being so bad right now it ends up being the same price here in toronto so there was no point in buying a lot of stuff tbh)
i think my favourite was new jersey, nyc was cool but honestly too crowded and dirty for my liking. i think next time i'd prefer to go to chicago or someplace else.
omg china japan AND singapore.. i wana go to all those places ahh lucky!! esp singapore cuz my aunt and uncle live there!
how was it??? i hear the foods real good in singapore, but buying anything else gets pricey as hell
and china and japan too thats so cool!!!! what did u buy and how long did u stay?
i have so many questions omg those three places are some of my top places to visit
i submitted my application and im gonna be volunteering starting next week one downside is i have to work with kids, and idk if im good enough with kids or not .. kids seem to love me but idk how to entertain them lol
π: 0 β©: 1
MysStarry In reply to mayasato [2016-10-11 02:57:49 +0000 UTC]
ahhh how fun!! omg i loved new york but i only spent a day there D: Did you go to the metropolitan museum or go see any shows? haha idk i'm a museum and musical junkie ;; (hamilton is playing on broadway rn and i really want to see it gosh)
lol yeah travelling is super tiring. sometimes i just want to spend a day at the hotel just to get myself situated but that'd be a waste of a day ahaha
aww sorry to hear that!! yeah not to mention the prices are pretty high in nyc :/
omg yeah the traffic in new york is crazy too like i was nearly hit by a car five separate times in one night??
How long did you spend there?? would you go back if you were given the chance?? o:
same!! my aunt and uncle (plus cousins...lol) are the main reason why i visited singapore...yeah, everything's more pricey there since practically all of it's imported from other countries. it was really hot and sunny lol, I'm from Washington state plus i never leave the house so i'd be melting on the sidewalk while waiting to take public transportation... i went there by myself (my mom had to go back to work after we visited China and Japan) so it was a pretty cool experience!! i mostly was by myself for the most part but my extended family would invite me out to dinner or other things from time to time. plus everyone knew english so it was a relief to hear a language i could understand (i'm chinese but...my vocabulary's pretty limited haha)
I, uh...bought mostly franchise merch and cosmetics when in China and Japan. eheheh...my wallet's hurting but asian products (mostly japanese) are better than the stuff we have here in america, and it's a pain to import things from home so i kinda took advantage of where i was?? idk I love Transformers to death and with makeup i just...feel better about myself. no self esteem in my looks aha.. We were in China for a week and a half, Japan for half a week, and then i was in Singapore for two weeks. China was also really hot but Japan was nice and cool!! idk why but i was so fascinated with the flora there. they get a lot of rain so everything was super green lol...i was also thrown off by the fact that japan and singapore drive on the left side of the road so i would constantly get confused
oh that's good to hear!! yeah kids...they're gonna be kids lol. do you know the age range?
usually if i'm with kids and i'm outdoors i just bring bubbles they make everyone happy

mayasato In reply to MysStarry [2016-10-11 23:48:49 +0000 UTC]
nope, we didnt see any shows or anything ( since i was with my aunt, uncle and parents, we saw p much what they wanted to see, aka the statue of liberty, the un center, etc... i think we were in times square for like 10 min max lol it's hellish there like i was literally brushing past everyone thats how crowded it was
OMG YES THE TRAFFIC?? one car was driving even tho it was a crosswalk and it touched my legs... fun times
the trip was pretty fun but very tiring, we saw a looot in a week so next time i wanna go to one place (probs chicago) and just explore that area for a longer time instead of cramming multiple places in a week. plus we travelled by greyhound, including the 1 night-2 day tour of washington dc, virginia and virginia, so tbh a lot of the time was spent on buses?
yooo that's so cool! how did u find travelling alone? it's good that english is a main language there, so it's easier to get around. i guess you got to do a lot of things ur way right? and did you stay at your aunt/uncle's?
yesyesyes i really love korean cosmetics (i've only tried japanese sunscreen) but oh boy i p much only use korean skincare nowadays haha;; i haven't tried the cosmetics techincally, except for some lip tint
ooh the one turn off about singapore for me is that it's super humid/hot? i cant stand weather above 27-28C (80-84F) so hearing that singapore is sometimes 40C just kills me inside
it's nice that japan had good weather tho, i love cool cloudy weather (just no rain pls)
the kids if i recall are gonna be 2-6 years old? so yikes i hope they're not a handful.. thing is, there's like 3 people working there and all the kids come with their parents so it shouldnt be too bad!

MysStarry In reply to mayasato [2016-10-30 05:53:41 +0000 UTC]
aww i'm sorry to hear that
yeah adults love to sightsee lmao, my parents (and all of my friend's parents) are the same :'D
oh my gosh i assume you're okay?? the traffic there is mortifying i've never seen anything like it o_O
oooh chicago sounds fun!! some of the neighborhoods are a little dangerous so be careful o: but for the most part it's a nice city from what I know lol
omg saaaame i live on the west coast but when i travelled to the east we just hung out on a greyhound lol
yeah spending some more time in locations would be nice o:
yeah for the first time i didn't have to do anything my mom wanted to do, lol. i went to a lot of tourist-y places like universal studios and waterparks, went shopping, and went to their four biggest zoos (there were so many animals there...). the public transportation is really easy to figure out, especially the train system (the buses were a little harder), and because it's such a good system it's really easy to live without a car there
no i stayed at a hotel but i would get together with my aunt/uncle for dinner or something every once in a while lol, they didn't have space for me since their guest room was occupied by their housekeeper and the other three bedrooms belonged to my two cousins and my aunt and uncle shared one
yesss i really want to go to korea just for their cosmetics and skincare lol. japan's not bad (though i feel korea would have better products) but china...you can't trust what you buy in china lol. food is fine, but branded products and cosmetics can't be trusted. there's a lot of knock offs and with the skincare/cosmetics there's little regulation as to what gets put into it so the chemicals can end up being really harmful.
there's a really nice korean store in singapore called The Face Shop and they have such good skincare products omg
have you heard of this app called mystic messenger? it's a korean otome and tbh my life is being taken over by it lol x_x
yeah! my cousins would joke that i would melt every time i exited some air conditioned area, they're used to the heat by now haha. i still remember getting super excited when it rained in singapore because i was finally able to be outside in an acceptable temperature range lol
yeah definitely!! hope you have fun!! o:
π: 0 β©: 1
mayasato In reply to MysStarry [2016-11-01 00:03:20 +0000 UTC]
haha yup im okay :') i gotta be more careful in nyc traffic
yeah apparently chicago is dangerous? but like downtown should be fine
also if i go i'd stay at my cousin's who lives in an area with like 90% students
yoo thats cool omg i'd wanna try visiting someplace alone (unlikely seeing as how i can't even go to a store 5 min away without my parents worrying)
yea i've heard singapore has a really good subway system! toronto's one sucks oml. like there's two stations that are maybe 10 min away by car?? but to get from one to another using the subway it would take an hour or longer because its a freakin U shape and they're on opposite ends
omg we have now 3-4 of the face shops here in toronto. i've actually never been there but i've ordered their stuff online its pretty good!
i always order the stuff online cuz its way cheaper (3 masks for $4-5 online vs $2-3 each in store haha cheap people problems)
yes i've heard of mystic messenger but i never played it
if we're being honest i probably would download it in a heartbeat but i'm too lazy to get invested in a new game if that makes sense
i think the one thing i hate more than super hot temps is rain ahaha... i mean i probably would love it in a place like singapore but i'm someone who cannot stand rain at all as soon as i feel one drop of water im like HNNNNNNNNNNNG
volunteering is getting better now! on the 29th we had a potluck party which was nice, but some of these parents need to learn how to feed their children neatly .. needless to say cleaning up took a while but it was fun
π: 0 β©: 1
MysStarry In reply to mayasato [2016-11-27 21:50:33 +0000 UTC]
ahh that's good to hear omg
yeah like having family wherever you want to vacation to is sooo nice tbh?? like they really know the area then and stuff
omg my mom was the same lmao, mostly because i have a really bad habit of wandering off on my own without letting anyone else know. i don't...have a reason for it i just do it, you know?? i get curious and i just forget to tell anyone. she's eventually gotten used to it since she now knows i'll always find my way back and i always have my phone. lol i went shopping with my aunt in singapore and i left her while she was asking the saleswoman questions and she flipped lmao
it's good your parents care, though :'D
oh wow my goodness ;; i don't think the transportation is very good here in america either (i wouldn't know i usually just walk or drive...), aside from new york's subway system but it's like, public transportation is way better for the environment??
omg really?? i can't find them here (maybe i need to look harder idk lol) ;w;
yeah that's really smart ahhh o: ive mostly just used moisturizers or washes from them, what are their masks like??
yeah i get'cha. i was really into it but lol the app has so many problems i reached a point in the story where it keeps on crashing not matter what i do so i just kinda gave up lmao. it was still a great game while it lasted lol, i might've binged it...
lmao really?? o: what's your opinion on snow then?
oh that sounds fun! I love potlucks until my brother steals my food, how many volunteer hours are you aiming for??
π: 0 β©: 1
mayasato In reply to MysStarry [2016-12-07 00:51:03 +0000 UTC]
lol omg my mom would freak out too . she's reallyyy worrisome
tb to when the AC on one of the greyhounds broke it was literally hell bc it happened on the most humid day.. yikes!
wooo a new face shop opened in a mall thats like. 10 min away from me? it's pretty small but it gets the job done. also muji opened in the mall too! i love their stuff, its so cheap and good quality
i don't like snow either but tbh its better than rain? but the WORST thing is any form of iciness like. i'll take inches of snow, but as soon as it melts and there's sheets of ice on the ground (even worse when u can't see the ice) then nope nope nope
slush is really icky too
to graduate we need a minimum of 40 hours. some of my friends have 100-200 already, meanwhile i'm here with like 20 lol. my dad didn't let me volunteer in grade 9 which is really dumb so i had to start recently
me and my friends are doing a secret santa and i can't waittt
π: 0 β©: 1
MysStarry In reply to mayasato [2016-12-14 05:58:28 +0000 UTC]
oh my gosh D: i'm sorry to hear that
muji? i've never heard of it o: i googled it just now and it looks sooo nice tho omg
is that a national requirement or is it just limited to your school/district? we don't have anything of the sort here (though it looks good on a college transcript so people do it anyways) o:
lol i feel, i want to do more volunteering tbh but idk where to look for opportunities? and like some organizations take volunteers but their time isn't counted as community service?
omg same! what are you getting your friend? o:
tbh i'm really iffy about the secret santa i'm a part of since last year one of my friends totally skipped out on it saying that she was too poor to get anyone a present?? but like, she still participated and got a present from her secret santa but she didn't give anything (she didn't cancel in advance) and now she's participating this year too??
π: 0 β©: 1
mayasato In reply to MysStarry [2016-12-17 03:13:46 +0000 UTC]
it's a provincial requirement for graduation
its good experience and i rly enjoy doing it, only problem is waking up at 8 on a saturday haha.....
ok so the MAXIMUM we were to spend was $25 lmao but i thought it was the minumum? thank god i realised after i only went $2 over tho lmao
i got her a book, one face mask, a lipgloss from nyx, lush bath bomb, fake lashes, a notebook and pen from muji and a faber castell brush pen
im so happy with the gift and i hope she likes it too, i was rly savvy and went during black friday n stuff so i got all of that for $27!
omg thats horrible wtf?? she better get her person a proper gift this time
do you guys have a strict budget? for us its 25 but ppl typically spent 30 ish
in previous years the average was like 35-40 but since more ppl are joining this year we're deciding to spend less
but holy shit one person spent $100 this year?? like im so curious to see what they got their person omg.

oh i see o: wow
omg i know that feel, when i was a kid my mom used to have me go to a chinese school during the weekends which started at like nine? i don't know what time she woke me up since i was young but i always wanted to sleep in class lmao
lmao i feellll
oh wow that's so nice!! o.o for such a good price too omg lush is so expensive tbh?? i always go in there and i like want to try everything but at the same time i look at the price tag and i'm like "?????"
i really wish i did some black friday/cyber monday shopping but i was so tired from thanksgiving x_x also i've never really done it before (nor has anyone in my family) but i would love the sales so much tbh??
what did you get? o:
she did thank god. it was really small but hey it's the thought that counts!!
we don't really have a strict budget, basically we just said "anything reasonable" though i think i spent the most? it was my best friend so i kinda already knew what i wanted to get her and from there i couldn't stop lmao...
omg what did they get?? 100 dollars is a lot??
π: 0 β©: 1
mayasato In reply to MysStarry [2017-01-26 01:12:23 +0000 UTC]
honestly on the weekends the earliest i can wake up is ,... 9 lol
yeah i made sure to go during black friday for that reason and im so glad i did tbh
cuz if i spent normally, the amount of stuff i would have gotten for $25-ish wouldnt be a lot so i'd feel compelled to buy more
and then i'd go over teh budget and then regret going over lol
oh true, for us thanksgiving is like in october? and plus my fam doesnt celebrate it so i just chill during the day off lol
black friday wasn't too hectic, probably cuz it's canada and stores only recently started doing black friday sales here
i got 2 copic markers, some lindor truffles and an art book! p cool
omg thats so cool that you got your best friend! same aha you kinda want to spoil someone close to you
oh boy they got like.. 2 sweaters, some disney tsum tsum plushie (which is pricey as hell for a plushie), literally all the muji pens, and some more things i think i cant remember
like one sweater alone was already more than the budget lmaoo

i'm in my senior year and i'm not willing to grow up ahaha ;w;" how's eleventh grade? what classes are you taking?
im really concerned about scholarships and college applications...we have yet to get to submitting them but i'm concerned. i just saw a scholarship portfolio where a girl had portfolio 5 sports for all four years, 600 work hours, and 700 volunteer hours. and yet she was also a straight A student. and i'm like "....shiiiiiiiit" because i seriously can't compare to that.
i spent the summer visiting my friend in NJ/NY and after that i lifeguarded too. i didn't get to volunteer as much though, which leaves me moderately concerned...i only have around 100hrs...hahaha....
π: 0 β©: 1
mayasato In reply to MysStarry [2017-09-24 02:53:09 +0000 UTC]
im taking all sciences plus comp sci and engineering! fun lmao i had to sacrifice any artsy course
and holy crap wtf???? 700 hours for volunteering plus another 600 hours.... sports and straight As...... how is that even possible
but yo 100 hours honestly sounds fine! i only have like 65 ish rn but like. my sis got into a good uni with around 50 (minimum is 40) so i guess it just depends? cuz some unis are looking for grades but others really want extracurricular involvement as well. maybe do research and see what other people online say, thats what i doΒ
oo how was ur summer in ny/nj!! that sounds fun! this summer i just stayed home lmao
π: 0 β©: 1
MysStarry In reply to mayasato [2017-09-25 05:43:07 +0000 UTC]
oh wow that sounds cool! do you plan on going into that field in the future?
man idk how to feel about art classes, they're great but the deadlines get super stressful
ikr?? and like, i actually knew this girl, she was in my physics class last year. that amount of hours with that little time is insane.
makes sense, thanks! definitely will keep that in mind. we dont actually have a minimum at my school which is odd, as i have friends in this state that go to other schools and they have a minimum. o: i also got 100 hours in lifeguarding and according to my councilor i can count the time ive done commissions as some sort of hours so that's nice...eheheheheh.
it was great, thank you!! i got to see a really close friend of mine, ive known him online for five years and i was super hyped to meet him. we got to explore places n all and take pics o: i really wish i got to go see a musical in NY though. I love musicals?? something about stories thru songs really gets my attention
π: 0 β©: 1
mayasato In reply to MysStarry [2017-10-03 02:53:40 +0000 UTC]
ya i wanna do something related to comp sci in the future, maybe art but probably not.
damn 100 hours is really good!!!!! holy i wanna aim for 100 cuz i doubt i can go further at this point lmao
oo that sounds funnn and SAME i wanna see a musical one day but tickets are usually really expensive or theyre all sold out... like i would love to see heathers the musical or newsies..
π: 0 β©: 1
MysStarry In reply to mayasato [2017-10-03 18:25:24 +0000 UTC]
really? architecture involves art, it's what i plan on going into o:
it really depends on the amount of opportunities you get tbh?? like i got to work like three times a week for four hours while i only got to volunteer once a week at the library for two w @
ikr...and then it gets more expensive if you go with others since that means more tickets...but i dont wanna go by myself??
OMG i love the heathers soundtrack. im getting into dear evan hansen too and like...i love it so much. never heard of newsies tho O: what's it about?

I made it to Legend in every life on Fantasy Life last night, but I've still got a long way to go... like 140 hours of gameplay done already. I am getting to the point where I need to start grinding as every thing after legend gets quite difficult. Also grabbed the AA trilogy thing for 3ds...despite already owning the DS cards.
π: 0 β©: 1
mayasato In reply to MojoBrown [2014-12-22 20:04:32 +0000 UTC]
dang 140 hours??? the most i have on a game is ac:nl, with 120
hmm i don't know if i want the ace attorney triology, i'm not sure i can jusstify spending 30 dollars on games I already played. it's a maybe for now.
and don't kill me for saying this but.... i really want to get style savvy. it's so weird bc all the games i have right now are all action-y and stuff. i guesss i just need something to chill out with
π: 0 β©: 1
MojoBrown In reply to mayasato [2014-12-23 17:31:50 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, it's a lot of time. The most time I have on any game is Terraria on Steam and it's almost 910 hours. I got the AA trilogy to have the first three games on my 3ds harddrive and not have to carry 3 games along etc... I do replay games, and I really really enjoyed the series so it made sense to me to order. Plus it looks prettier. I don't think it is something every AA fan needs, but it is nice to have.
I understand. I wish I had a few different type games for 3ds as well. Style Savvy isn't my cup of tea of course, but I am not hatin' on it!
π: 0 β©: 1
mayasato In reply to MojoBrown [2014-12-31 21:18:07 +0000 UTC]
(woo new laptop!)
910 hours .. HOW. granted, i don't play games as much as i used to but still. yeah, i'm all about re-reading and re watching movies/shows. hell, this year i re watched avatar the last airbender like 3 times. thats 61 episodes each time.
i really wish they had the physical copies of the ace attorney 3ds games. i love having the box and manual and such
π: 0 β©: 1
MojoBrown In reply to mayasato [2015-01-01 02:16:37 +0000 UTC]
Well I was a moderator on a Terraria server, so a couple 100 hours of those 900 were just me logged in and helping run the channel. But still over half of them ere me playing. It's a very good game, but it becomes a time sink. Easy to waste a day playing and not realize, the day is gone. It would be nice if they did a boxed edition of AA trilogy, but I have the boxes and all from the original DS version I have still so I can't complain. Now instead of carrying around the 3 game cards in my case, I don't need to carry any of them!

with virtual life and simulator games, i tend to get bored easily, but with story-driven games the actual game is only so long.
dragon quest ix was such a good game, i want something like that for 3ds. perfect blend of customization, fighting/grinding and quests

yeah man you should totally get it my favourite part of the game is how extensive it is and the relationships. in harvest moon the characters are so bland and barely have any dialogue, but in rf4 they have different convos with you every single day, for about 1.5 yrs before it starts repeating most dialogue.Β

Yeah, Got it Friday night! I got a physical copy, but I preferred the downloads because all games give you some Club Nintendo coins...which is soon ti be a moot point. Don't know if you heard but Club Nintendo is closing in June, and some new fan appreciation program is taking it's place. Gotta spend your coins by March or lose them, and the Gold/Platinum rewards will be announced in April, all downloadable games again like last year.RF4 is pretty damn fun thus far, I am enjoying it.

you either have to buy it from the general store or using prince points.. i forgot
make sure you have fodder in your field, it's so important. also, get a couple of cows and chicken. once you max their happiness points and such, they will produce lvl 10 eggs and milk which you can use to make flan, which is an easy way to earn money. especially later on when you have pumpkins, you can make pumpkin flan.Β
later on in the game, you can have your own tiny shop and you can sell things for a higher price. basically, my pumpkin flans sell for about 7k each. pretty good huh especially if the pumpkins are higher leveled

I got Super Princess Peach today...never got to play it back in the day. I heard a lot of good stuff about it though. It's not bad at all! Who knows why Nintendo would close it. They're always late updating the rewards. I am guessing the new program will be nothing like the current one though. None of the info you gave them will carry over. When ever they set up the new fan appreciation thing... we will all have to start fresh. I guess they just wanted to reward the loyal fans, I mean basically they gave us a bunch of "free" stuff for spending some of our money on their products. If you think about it, it's more than most companies do.Β Rune Factory is Quite Fun. At the time I made my character, I didn't even know about in-game marriages...and I chose the female protagonist...so I don't even know.

yeah, it was surprisingly fun. i thought it would be weird and boring but it's basically mario but pink
i guess i don't buy THAT many games , so i never had a lot of coins. but i still got free stuff so it's a win/win situation either way. i'm excited for the new rewards coming out next month, i hope they reduce the prices on things since they are closing down and all. oh, and flipbote 3ds
lol really? well in that case go for the stronger ones, leon and dylasΒ

I am really enjoying it, that sums it up pretty good too, mario but pink. I buy a lot of games myself, some old ones even, and a lot of the downloadable vc games too. Yeah, flipnote will be free for everyone next month!
Okay, I'll remember that when I get far enough to make relationships.

So the rewards page is now updated. They've got a lot of new games for download. It looks like most of the stuff from all the past giveaways is up, as well as all the games they offered for last years gold/platinum rewards. They also added some new physical items. The site says that the Flipnote download code will be availible later this week, apparently it will show up in our To-do lists. I am impressed with their timeliness. I now have faith, they will have the Flipnote stuff ready this week. After that we just wait until April when this years special gifts are announced.

these physical rewards are much better than the old ones. i just wish there were soundtracks and stuff like in the japanese rewards.Β
i can't wait for the flipnote codes. i wonder if anyone has gotten them yet?
