I am trying to figure out if there is a 'notice' telling you if your work gets declined from a group or not---and you seem like you may know?

I am sure you have found out the answer already, but I'll answer you anyway.
If you keep your correspondence message (the note you receive when you submit a deviation to a group) in your inbox, it will tell you if it has been accepted or rejected but you will not receive an extra message or notice about the declined deviation unless the group have as a policy to inform everyone who gets a deviation declined. But that is rare with bigger groups.
