Must have been a long time ago lol... but yeah, it's definitely true. Personally I think some of the most talented and even successful (irl) artists on this site have less than 50k views. Part of it is just dumb luck, being selected for a DD, and the rest of the popularity depends heavily on how active you are in the community. Of course being truly good at art helps, but I don't think it is a determining factor around here.

OMG.
I have never received a critique on anything before and I thought they wored just like comments so I deleted it from my inbox in order to reply to it on the picture but now it's not there. ;-; Do you know if there's a way to get them back???? It is ridiculous that that happens. Really weird.

Oh noooo. Hahaha. Yeah apparently they changed it so that you have to approve of it before it's posted. Maybe there is some way to be able to dig up things I've critiqued before, I'm not sure D: that was actually my first critique. If we can't get it back, no worries. :3

You can still see it on your page (and I replied to it), but since I deleted it, it won't show up on the deviation. :/ I posted a question asking if there was a way to get it back though, so hopefully I'll get a response. If not, maybe you can just copy and paste the text, etc and then I'll make sure not to delete it.

Thank you so much. ;-; That really means a lot. Often I feel like my art is getting worse from what it was a couple of years ago, so that's really encouraging to hear. I'm having a really miserable week so seeing something like that helps a ton.
