Think about it this way Ever time some one builds there popularity on someone else's hard work.
It diminishes not just that person that had there artwork stolen but every one else That is struggling to get better and/or seen.

As for your artwork you will get better in time Almost every one on Deviant-art has experiences the slow start but in time you'll find cool groups , great friends/watcher and your artwork will get better just keep at it.

Not everything was deleted. From what I can tell most, if not all, of your gallery is in storage. Why not delete the work you didn't make and instead upload stuff you actually did make? I bet you can do your own art but you're just nervous of what other people will say. Don't be. This community can actually be very nice, we just don't take very kindly to when people steal art and claim it as their own.

So maybe just take a break and work on something of your own and upload it. You might get a few biters here and there but things will eventually calm down the more you upload your own work.

Actually, it isn't in storage, it says 'deviation pending request form' underneath them all. It means they have some number of days(not sure how many) to get permission from the original artists to post them and if they don't they get deleted.
I saw this in someone else's galley(except it was demotivationals) and that's what they said it was.

Almost none of the things in this users gallery is their own, and they do not even give credit to who made the original or where they found the picture. It really aggravates me that stolen photos make it to the popular page of deviant art and I feel it should be regulated more closely.

I think I beat you to it haha. I emailed deviantart's customer service and they replied saying they would suspend the gallery and basically ask for proof of ownership.
