I'm glad to hear that projects such as Metanoia aren't completely dead. I still check every month

So...I know this is probably a long shot, but I feel like I gotta ask.
When will there be more Metanoia? I've hit the point where I'm checking for updates almost constantly (again). I understand that life happens, and that's totally cool, I'm just going through fan-girl withdrawals.

Well, I'm working on Chapter 12, and Jesse's got the rest of 11 for texting, but I don't know when it will update again. Life happens, as you say, and Jesse wrote himself into a corner and ended up pulling a several-year-long hermit crab act. He's updating other stories now, and in a much better place healthwise and mentally, but it looks like Metanoia's going to go through some growing pains before he gets back to it.
I'm sorry. I wish I had better news. The best I can give you is, it's not dead, and it is going to get wrapped up eventually.

It's okay. I really do understand how all that can go down (just ask my half finished projects). It's just that Metanoia is one of my faves, if not my fave, and I would probably be kind of devastated if it was dead, and not just inching along. I hit the point where I had to know whether I should move on or cling to hope.
Sucks to hear about the roadblocks, but it's good to hear that things are going better. That's far more important. ^^ In any case, I shall continue to cling to hope.

Jesse's working on redrawing the Prologue, bit by bit, and after that he plans to sell it and the first book through ComiXpress or a similar venue. It's very good to know that there's interest out there! I hope you don't mind waiting a little longer.

Good heavens, I'd never noticed how many of my favorite works of yours I hadn't, well, Favorited. I discovered yer stuff with delight shortly after I first got on DevArt and didn't know anything about Favorites.
And since that was on my old and lousy computer, I'd actually downloaded several of your pics just to make sure I could see 'em again if my modem died. Which would, y'know, suggest that I liked 'em and such. Which would in turn suggest I oughta Fave 'em here. D'oh!

The rest of Chapter 11 should start going up within the next week, actually. I'm four pages away from completely shaded, I need to clean up what I've got and send them to Jesse for text.

And there's nothing to apologize for; both real life and serious creative blocks happen to us all. I didn't ask to put pressure on you--actually the reverse; I just wondered whether to STOP expecting more and get off y'all's case.
I've got a couple of popular fanfic series that I've never been able to finish--not one more word in over a decade--and every request from fans made the block impossibly stronger. The guilt is crippling, and my only relief is knowing that most of my frustrated readers have long since gone on to other fandoms than, oh, X-Files and The Phantom Menace. Now if I could just find a way to write more of the Batman novel from just a few years ago, much less the original novel it was turning into....
I must say I wish the SSRI antidepressants didn't mess with one's creativity. But without 'em, I almost never have the energy to write either. Poot!

Okay, it's probably going to be next week, or something like that, actually, because I only JUST sent the pages off for lettering. But they are coming! They exist!
I've been managing my (mild) seasonal depression without meds, because I consistently hear that most antidepressants do mess with your creativity. A schedule to stick to helps, especially if it holds me responsible to my near and dear, and allows me to feel that I'm adding something to the community. Not beating myself up over being tired/useless/slow/late helps a LOT more. If you're beating yourself up, you're not going to actually go DO the thing, you know?
It's hard dealing with the overactive mental editor and the anhedonia, but it passes, for me, and I know it will. I can catch up in the summers, and get a little ahead, to make up for the winters.

I've got rather a lot of backlog to catch up on! 50+ pieces in my 'To Post' folder, and more scattered through my school folders or unscanned, that I need to resize or adjust colors on before I can put them up.
