# About me

My name is Merlin ... yeah, I wish. It's Karin, but ever since I was small, I have gone by a name pertaining to my latest obsession. Some of my ongoing obsessions include Les Miserables, Lord of the Rings, and age-of-sail stuff generally. (The BBC's Merlin is the latest addition to my collection of obsessions and nicknames) I live on the East Coast of Canada, where I live the glorious life of a student. I do my best to avoid doing too much work while still passing my classes. I've succeeded so far.

I love travel, reading and ... life! Also the arts, but less for the "analyse and study" than for the "pretty." I find it impossible to be academic about art. My schoolbag, at the moment, is home to my stuffed sheep, Scotty (he wears a tartan hat and scarf), and my desk is adorned by a stuffed gargoyle, Aloysius (named in honour of Brideshead Revisited). I am a French major, and I adore sailing, fencing and horseback riding, though that last is a new experience to me, having started lessons this year. In short, I am a trifle obsessive, my friends call me eccentric, and I don't know what my enemies call me.

Current Residence: University (where I spend my time evading work by drawing fanart)

Aww, nice! :D (Big Grin) I say it counts as fingerpainting if you used your fingers alone to create it ... this would probably be like semi-fingerpainting or some other vague term like that. ;) (Wink)

... I kind of want to ruffle his hair and give him a hug. Is that wrong?

Aw, thanks! I quite like drawing him, though I can never get Aloysius quite right -- teddy bears are hard to draw. Hence, he is featured here alone.

My computer (Clarissa) is a very temperamental machine at the best of times, but recently she has been getting far worse. Every few minutes my Internet windows close, it's quite annoying.

I've never really tried drawing Sebastian and Aloyisius, so I wouldn't know. I'll take your word for it though. I tried drawing a very fluffy cat once, and that went very wrong....

Well, Sebastian does have his wine to keep him company. Poor thing. Grr. Grr. Grr. Grr. Grr.

That's really quite irritating. Mine is annoying in terms of parental controls. It won't let me on anything. It's like there's a fussy old Victorian Lady living inside it....
