Love your work. We had a lady come into our shop yesterday to buy sterling beads to go with her spoon jewelry and I just fell in love with the idea of making jewelry out of household items. Your work is gorgeous!

Wow, cool. can I ask you if you be so kind to tell me where do you get your stones. I work with wood because I'm allergic to iron. So I want to make me a pendant with wood and stone. And I don't know how to shape the stone, So please, please can you tell me how to do it? (Sorry for my english is bad)

i buy the stones pre-cut, usually from online. lots of places carry stones ebay has some cheapies if you wanted some just to play around with. nicer stones from fire mountain gems, rio grande jewelry supply, etc. just look for jewelry supply or gemstone websites, you'll find some! good luck!

Love your work, checked out the etsy too. Very very nice. Love the spoon work. I tried that, but maybe I don't anneal them enough? So I'm over utensils. I enjoy seeing what you do with them. I am a silversmith as well and just enjoy seeing what other smith artists do/techniques. I your clean lines.

thank you!
what was happening when you tried to use spoons? were they cracking or just not bending well, or something else? i just hate to see unresolved problems hehe. i'm a total metals nerd.
always nice to meet another silversmith!

When I was working with a spoon it was very difficult to bend to the point I wanted it to. It was exhausting. Still have a few, just sitting there. Might try again.

yes, sounds like you just needed to anneal fully either that, or the spoons you've got are steel. steel utensils don't work neeeearly as well as solid silver ones.

Hmmmmm, I thought they were marked silver. Gotta go back and check on that. I thought that was the reason I picked them up.

a lot of the silverware companies are tricky about their markings, purposefully trying to make silverplate look like solid sterling. 95% of the time, if it doesn't actually say "sterling" or "925" on it, then it's not. sorry if you know this already!

I knew it for jewelry, but I didn't know that was the same for utensils. I will recheck them. I appreciate the advice!

yup, same deal for any stamped metals there's always the standard marks, and always the companies that try to confuse people with similar-but-not-quite marks. it truly annoys me how many spoons are marked "silver" or "g sterling" or "SS" clearly in attempt to trick people.
