sweet, i totally love this stuff. for a while i did chain mail, but it got so annoying making my own rings. i love this stuff tho, it's very time consuming and calming, plus the results are always very pleasing.

yeah tell me about it, i made a sheet of 8in1 and it took me like a week, i went at it for hours. first i had to make the rings, cut em, and then start putting it together, i had at least over 400 hundred rings hand made almost. man i love the stuff so much tho. i used it for a prank once (the sheet i made) and it totally held. it was sweet.

Welcome to Group Chainmaille Therapy. For those of you who are new here, I want it understood that we all walked into this ON OUR OWN. Nobody forcibly addicted us to chainmaille, no one made us pick up the pliers and start bending rings - it's our own choice and we're to be held entirely responsible for it.

You could do a lot worse than work metal for a hobby. It's not the cheapest hobby, but it has the advantage of being easy to break down an old piece to be recycled into a new one. *grin* Done that more times than I can count.

i have a question: has anyone ever tried making byzantine but using mobius balls for the links rather than just ordinary rings? just a random idea i had, no idea if it's plausable, but i'd love to see pics if anyone does/has managed it, hopefully i will try it soon

This is where I get my patterns and most of them have tutorials. THere are hundreds of weave variations listed there. Become a member, it's free! I couldn't live without the page!
And you WILL find mobius balls as connectors for Byzantine in one of the tutorials on the website. GO SEE!! and good luck. Feel free to check out my pics. Many times you can pick out a weave by just looking at it!.

I did something similar to that on my account, but it was only certain rings- it was fun and created an interesting effect.
