Michelle, 1st off, your parents must be proud.Β  What is your next project?Β  Also, how did you get started? how can I get a piece of the foam that you use?Β  I would like to try and carve a duck decoy from it.

Your work is amazing. It's crazy that some of the sculptures are made out of foam, and then in the films they look so real. Your talent is unbelievable. Thanks for sharing these!

Excellent sculptures, I might have to try sculpting in polyurethane foam sometime. The only foam sculpting I've ever done was in styrofoam which I didn't think was such a great medium, but if sculptures like yours are possible in foam, I might have to take another look at it.

I wish I had more to give, besides this llama.....come visit my site and see my work and read my DA Interview, Im still trying to get over a heart attack and several strokes, but I'm stubborn and now that can use my hands and have actually finished a piece last year, I must look beyond my physical problems and get busy (Our brain do not really communicate with our bodies), so I had to relearn everything like talking, writing, drawing still cant walk yet, but I'm trying so hard to get back to where I once belonged, yes, get back.......jack

Today I met a guy you might know, his name is Troy leonardi (sp?) I met him on a set for the new Lone Ranger movie (Johnny Dep) He was working on a faux stump of all things (cursing it out really). He was very cool, been in your business for about 40 years, and said he worked on pirates. It was fun to hear about the type of work you do. It sounds very fun but also like it has a lot of head aches. Anyway nothing really to say except I have a new appreciation for what you do.

tsegi In reply to mkm3d [2012-04-23 17:03:38 +0000 UTC]

Probably. He was faux painting a dead weathered stump made out of foam. (cursing the many decision makers, and how they kept changing their minds)

I was wondering what ever happened to the Sam Kinison statue?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mkm3d In reply to revloc [2012-08-07 18:31:29 +0000 UTC]

Most sculptures for films belong to the studio's . They can be anywhere to the dumpster, or a storage shed. Since Sam was Foam with a hardcoat, I'm sure he was tossed away. Maybe his brother got him . He was 14 feet tall with his base, so I'm sure it's gone . Thanks for asking . Doesn't bother me, Got a picture !

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, but know this, he is still with you. I know because I lost my Mom a short while ago and I can still feel her presence always with me. She guides me with my sculpture and is always helping me in so many ways. Please know that I am not young. I'll be 60 in May and things get a little fuzzy sometimes. I'm nearly all the way well after having polio (as a toddler)then post polio ( I got it back in '97 even worse tan the first time)) then the heart attack and several strokes during by pass surgery and I learned I am diabetic. But my mother does, indeed, keep me safe and I can feel her helping me to stay strong....
Please know that I love making new friends and if you ever need to talk, I'm here. It may take me a short while to get back to you, but I always shall...........I love your work and I would love for you to see mine if you havent already. Just know you Dad is with you, as my Mom is with me. Please take care and write to me, I would love to be your friend, especially now, when you are in need........Thank you and please take care, jss (jack)

It's so hard for me to understand how someone could be so talented like yourself. It really astonishes me, I never was good at sculpture, but really, really hope in the future I could even come to a fraction as good as you I was wondering, how do you get commissioned to do projects for movies? and how much is the pay?
