Glad to hear that your enjoying it, despite the long hours, and well... the work.
Are you planning on sticking there for long, or are you going to upsticks at some point in the near future?
Sheffield is ok, cold and wet as usual. But it's not as fun as it used to be, for obvious reasons. That said, Ben, Chris and (sometimes I think unfortunately) Dave is still here too. Mostly I've just been working away, and whiling away what hours I have - looking forwards to christmas.
As for the course, it's quite different from my previous one, less work or at least less contact hours - I only have two exams come January, and my lab project is quite fun, so far I've just been making glass for the next stage of the experiment. What is different is the make up of the dept. it's almost entirely international - there's only 3 english people including myself. It's been quite fun meeting so many ppl from different cultures.

Hey Owen, think im planning on staying here for a coupla yrs at least depending on other things. Im liking the department alot and the work - unbelievably busy though!!

glad ur meeting a big variety of ppl - its v good for you, you get more viewpoints and ideas etc. Things r going ok here, some probs but coping. i lost a stone since i last saw you

Why did I ask? Mostly just curiosity, I just wondered if you had plans and goals still - I have a growing worry that once I've got into my job there won't be anything else to aim for (as such).
Anyway, yes my course is more enjoyable then my previous one, its got more of the stuff I enjoy and less of the maths
