Hi everyone;
I will be shutting down all my deviant art accounts, as a response to Deviant Art's approval for featuring images that encourage and support violence towards women. The response I received to expressing my concern and the attack that I felt over one particular recent daily deviation showed no concern for women, and no concern for abusing the rights of others to not be exposed to extreme violent/fetishistic imagery without my consent or desire to do so. Deviant Art believes they have a "right" to feature this content and subject others to it. I do not feel that I have a right to express myself in Deviant Art, and in particular, express when something has gone "too far." Free expression has to be a two-way road, and since I'm being shut-down, I'm out of here. Thanks for the support and friendship.

I appreciate this image may not be something you enjoy however, it's perfectly acceptable art and within our right to feature it within the daily deviations.

If this sort of artwork does offend you, I recommend turning on your mature content filter and you will be saved from seeing images of this sort.

I find it odd that you consider that all art should be non-offensive and innocent as art was practically born out of a need to express ones feelings and those are not always innocent and non-offensive. We have a varied community of artists and with that comes a variety of expressions and tastes and to deem yourself 'violated' because you don't like everything seems a bit excessive.

Please consider your mature content filter.
