Well, for most people groups are little more than a place to show off your artwork. Most groups are themed, but there are a bunch that will accept all types of artwork. I answered this after commenting on your submissions, so I'll go into a little more depth here
I was actually kind of wondering why you joined the group (after seeing your submissions), as you are clearly not heathen yourself (I assume you are either Pagan, or perhaps just interested in pagan art). In your case I would say this group might be a good place to learn more about Norse mythology, and Heathen practices (if you're interested in such), and maybe to get to know some of the other group members by commenting/faving etc.
Be forewarned though, many Heathens are prone to flyting people, so don't come on too strong with people you don't yet know well, or you may end up with hurt feelings or a bad impression.
We have a number of members who are also non-Heathens, some of whom contribute art, others just seem to watch the group. Don't be discouraged by the fact that your first submissions were declined, you're not alone. Even several of our 'confirmed Heathen' members submit inappropriate works from time to time
I hope this doesn't discourage you, and cause you to leave, as you seem to be a bit of a social butterfly, of which this group is in serious short supply. I've been trying to get my members more involved in commenting and participating since I started it
So, yeah..long winded comment huh? Anyway, you'll find I'm relatively easy-going, and I embrace diversity so the final thing I can say is: just be yourself, you'll find the way you fit into the group

Yes I am Pagan.. Wiccan actually... and I would love to learn more about Norse mythology!! Not really sure what is meant by Heathen practices. I hope to make some friends... and I have offended anyone I do apologize!!

I thought so No need to apologize, no offense was taken; did my comment about flyting prompt you to think so?
What I meant by Heathen practices, is the way we honor the gods, and practice our faith. It's rather different from Wiccan practices. I actually come from a background that could be called 'Wicca-like'(Wicca of course being a specific pagan religion, my particular way was less specific and influenced by several), before I officially 'converted', so I am one of the small percentage of Heathens who practice magic alongside their faith. Many don't engage in anything beyond rune-working, but I think that the reason is because much of the actual practices of our ancestors are lost to time, thanks to the Christian church.
Anyway, there are several links on the groups front page that will help you get to know Norse Mythology better, I would say get on Wikipedia and get to know the basics there, then dig into the actual books that record the myths (in the links), and the other sites. The group's blogs might also be of interest to you; currently I only have one contributor, but her 'job' is to do write ups about the Holy Days, a good place to learn about our practices. I also do blogs on other topics, and have plans to do one for beginners, and those curious about Heathenry. So there's plenty of info around
As for making friends, just be yourself I'm in the chatroom rarely, but I do hang out in there from time to time just to see if anyone uses it..I have yet to catch any of the group's members, so I don't really know if it's being used, but I'd like to get more people into it, anyway if you feel like popping in to try and catch me I'll be happy to answer questions and such.

I'm with you on learning about other religions, it's part of what brought me to Asatru.. Oddly enough I've always been fascinated by Christian mythology, and Jewish mysticism as well. I've known a lot of Wiccans and Druids over the years that have been inspired to use Norse themes in their practices (myself included), so no doubt something here will inspire you.
