not even close. there was once this boy who would be closer to a monster than a monster himself. they kept him locked away in the tallest tower of the family's castle. he was the kneebone boy. but this is not his story. this is the story of Lucia, Max, and Otto Hardscrabble. They are siblings. Otto is the oldest and the oddest. Wearing a black scarf with gold leaf trimmings around his neck and over his mouth. He doesn't speak. He can but chooses not to. He speaks in sign language that only Lucia and Max can understand. And also if you pronounce Lucia like Lucy with an A at the end, you're wrong. It's LuCHEEa. THeir mother went missing a few years ago or 10 I forgot. Their father is an architect. They set off in search of the kneebone boy in London. People think that their mother is dead and that Otto killed her with the scarf around his neck. and what else...oh! they have a five legged cat and on one of its paws it has 13 toes. cool huh? it's name is Chester.
