Oy... thank you so very much on the critique on my piece. The reddish tint was an adjustment layer and I thought it looked kinda cool (kind mooching off the T3 walking through the red-lit hallway thing) but yeah, I can definitely see what you are talking about.

hey man, cool you came to my page to diuscuss it.
sorry i told you to be patient, i didn't know you are on devART for such a long time. i'm not that new either, this is just a new account.

now, i don't think there's contradiction, because with 'attention', i meant the comments you gain from submitting a piece - while 'response' is coming in return of a comment you gave yourself. so you can have each of them without the other one. i think it really depends what kind of works you are commenting on and how those artists can relate to your own stuff.
i think you're work is quite dark, thus there may be people feel disturbed lookin at it and do not feel like leaving a comment - although i personally believe some of your stuff looks interesting and you have talent.

as for the word community - there are always assholes spoiling the interaction. i know it's frustrating if you put some effort in supporting others and don't get anything in return. i should agree, a thank you note is the least... people just don't always have the time. whenever i log on to devART, i'm busy interacting with the people, so i have less time to look at new art. thus, i sometimes ignore messages at first and get back to them a few days later.

hmm, i don't know if this helps you to better understand why some (many?) people do not reward others.... i hope it did.
