I think Art could be used to illustrate some world wide problems like Famine, Global Warming, Overpopulation. Artists have a responsibility to make the world a better place. Not just produce pretty images.

That's very, very true and it is indeed a power that artists ought to utilize more often. The message of a piece is just as important, if not more so, than the aesthetically pleasing aspects of the artwork. When I look at artwork in other artists' portfolios or even the artwork around deviantART, I find myself remembering the images with strong, clear messages more than the simply pretty pieces. I'm not trying to downgrade the artists that focus on aesthetics more than messages; everyone has their own styles and areas of focus of course, but I do find pieces that address problems or try to persuade others to get up and do something much more powerful and memorable.

Sorry I'm so late in replying. I lay down on the sofa and snoozed. The flames from the house fire woke me up and in spite of the crisis I felt it more important to write to you first before the firemen arrived. "Yes, (cough, cough), I do believe that the message, (cough cough) is very important but........Ahhhhhh...Help! Help! I can't find my way out!!!!

I don't have a lot of money. I neglected paying some bills to buy the Wacom. A graphic tablet/pen is a convenient tool to someone who already knows how to draw and paint the traditional way. I'm an excellent illustrator and draughtsman but I'm lazy and searching for modern technological shortcuts. Don't you think it's getting late and you should go to bed?

I see, well digital art is less time-consuming in some ways, yet takes more time in other aspects. At least it's that way for me, since I'm not very well-versed in digital painting programs yet.

It's only 9pm where I am, so I won't be going to bed for a while

I don't feel entirely comfortable with the word, "Deviant" however, in art college we were encouraged to think outside of the box. This school policy produced many extreme behaviors and artwork so I became very liberal. So nowadays, nothing shocks or surprises me. I appreciate all kinds of art.
