Ok, so I know the LoTN thus far has only been singular, aaaaaaand technically it's not night when I'm doing this, but stop interrupting me cos I've got a link full of awesomey goodness. Daffodils by ~FromTheFieldsOfGold is a poem using caesura with amazing effectiveness. This puppy reads slooooow and wonderful; a true lyrical moment in time that encompasses the category in which this piece is found. To fully realize that this poem has it all, you should all do yourselves a favor and wikipedia "daffodil" as well.
Feel free to stop by and give me lovings, people and enjoy tonight's LoTN!

hello
Thanks for the watch. Much appreciated, as was your comment. I hope to reciprocate at some point in the not too distant future. It's good to meet another prose-writer.

I'm happy MinorKey, but you don't feel you need to comment on my work just because I'm watching you now. If you feel you want to, then feel free. Otherwise, enjoy what you read, on whomever's gallery.

Of course not At the same time, it seems unfair to me not to make the effort to critique other people when they have spent time doing it for me. It's not the watch - it's my belief that I can't expect people to spend time on my work if I don't reciprocate on occasion.

*laughs* I look at your list of recent visitors...and you just got hit by four of the dA writing heavyweights.
Alas, I am not one, but came along and spoiled the list. You've been on dA longer than most of us, yet no one seems to have seen you before. How odd...

Aha: Princess Bride! The ROUS are out to get you. "I'm not a witch; I'm your wife!"
*cough* On the more serious front....Thank-you, nemish, for your comment on The Goldfish Bowl. I see what you mean about the 1st and 2nd paragraphs. As a matter of fact I was thinking about removing the first one altogether---I didn't really feel that it fitted in with the rest of the story. As to your comments on the dialogue between the fish and the girl (my brother took one look at it and said it was "worrying, very worrying"!) I put the 'fish remarks' in italics to separate them from the girl's remarks, but declined against putting quotation marks in as the girl wasn't actually speaking either. However, it's my first try at stream-of-consciousness-style writing and I'm more than willing to try that and see how it looks. I was just worried that then people would come up and tell me to separate the girl's and the fish's remarks with a line space, which isn't the look I was going for. But anyway, this is FAR too long. Thank-you for your patience and comment!

Perhaps the best quote:
Inigo Montoya: Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father: prepare to die. Now, offer me money.
Count Rugen: Yes.
Inigo Montoya: Power too. Promise me that.
Count Rugen: All that I have and more. Please...
Inigo Montoya: Offer me everything I ask for.
Count Rugen: Any thing you want.
Inigo Montoya: I want my father back, you son of bitch.

Brilliant book and film. Wonderful characters. Great quotes: "You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! *cue maniac laughter*

It's a great book. A bit different than the movie, but still fun. Of course, the special edition dvd should be required viewing...so many great lines in one story.

Hey man, thanks for the nice note. It's hard to know where I stand sometimes, and I just don't want to be the amateur in a writing forum. It's quite obvious who is the stronger, and well, I appreciate the bits I get to read from you, because they add a new dimension to what I may one day be capable of.
Thanks again, my friend.
