My Etsy account: Sniple
(There's nothing there and I haven't switched it over to a seller account yet. I need to make some "sell-able" stuff.)
I'm okay. I've been working on some drawings. So far... It's not sexy but it's all right.

I just bought a couple of of supplies for pendants (blank tray-thingies and some bottle caps). I need glaze or something. I'll head to AC Moore when I can. I wish Michaels had Diamond Glaze. (I live near one so...)

that's awesome lol did you get them online? I've been looking for blank trays (like inlay things rights) for a while but they are expensive it sucks. and acmoore has diamond glaze?! I never knew that D: lol, I got that 2 part epoxy thing, I'm scared to use it though >.<

DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-03-19 04:11:17 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I found them on Etsy. I got some from here: [link]
I don't recall seeing DG at AC Moore but I must check. It's available on the website but I don't want to pay for shipping. I'm tempted to use Aleene's Paper Glaze though I hear it's not as good as DG. It's just that the name is...
I've never tried epoxy. It's a type of resin, right? I want to use resin but I'm lazy about mixing. I could get resin stickers though.

o0o i see, some of the shipping is ridiculous now-a-days. 12 dollars for a 2 oz bottle??!! crazy. lol I just saw this on etsy it's not a whole lot but just a sample: [link] []=tags&includes[]=title
Yea I forgot the name temporarily haha, it is resin, I never heard of resin stickers but they seem very convenient. I hope you find some diamond glaze! ebay maybe? with a good seller i guess lol

DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-03-19 18:31:01 +0000 UTC]
That's a good sample. If you sell whatever you make, you can receive a decent amount of pocket money. ^^
I'm a messy person but I hate cleaning up so I don't think I can mix resin. So, I'll stick with resin stickers.
I think I'll just hop over to AC Moore or find an alternate glaze.

DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-03-23 23:29:22 +0000 UTC]
I couldn't find any DG so I caved in and bought resin. It was okay to use except when I waited a bit too long to use it on a couple pendants. It was stiff and sticky (man, that doesn't sound right >_>). I took care to make sure there weren't any air bubbles but some managed to elude me. I might sell those at a reduced price to a couple of friends.
I recruited a friend to help me with future resin casting activities. She will be in charge of the timer and rinsing stuff out. (Because I don't want to take off my gloves or risk getting resin on electronic devices.)

We should have a resin "party."
I'll take pictures once I finish everything. ^^
I have to flat a bunch of bottle caps and using a hammer takes forever. I'm thinking about getting something like a Cuttlekids machine to flatten it for me. I have AC Moore coupons too. I think I'll get some inexpensive spray paint for the caps, too.
I want to use my own art but I need a sealer that works for ink jet print. I have Mod Podge but that does not work. I suppose the spray one uses for charcoal drawings could work too.

Woo Partay! lol That must be time consuming, but worth it I never heard of Cuttekids lol I love acmoore coupons... don't they have 50% off one this week? (well in the state of NJ... i guess). Go to walmart for spray paint... or lowes either one has some cheap ones. Yea I know what you mean, the spray ones should work, but I'm not sure, maybe spray acrylic sprayed reallly light? They might work let me know how it goes
And maybe you can print them with a laser printer through you're school?

DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-03-29 19:16:03 +0000 UTC]
AC Moore has 50 gillion coupons this week. >_< I just used a couple the other day.
My dad told me to go to Walmart for spray paint, too. I live right across the street from one so it's no biggie.
I bought some Workable Fixative for charcoal and ink drawings. I think I'll get something else from the same brand (Krylon) for sealing images. Prints at my school cost quite a bit. It's annoying.
I nailed a hole into a bottle cap. Yaaaay! The problem is that it's a bit... sharp. Yeah.
When the weather gets nice I'll go outside to flatten bottle caps with the power of Thor. Inside, everyone's like "You're too loud!" which is kind of funny since there have been times in the early morning I was sleeping and then BANG BANG BANG! My dad or someone is using a hammer. Goddammit.

Lucky! we gotta drive to one... although it isn't too far lol. There are 2 Walmarts within a mile radius >.<. I need to get some workable fixative too. Krylon is a good brand ! That's Unfairrr haha, but the weather has been wonderful! I hope you got some bottle caps done these past few days

It's all right. ^^
I've decided to give up on flattening those damn caps. D:<
They just piss me off. D:<
I'm going to make magnets out of them. D:<
I just realized I bought rare Earth magnets so it's unlikely that I can sell them overseas (it's a no-no). D:<
Son of a... D:<
I just made a whole batch of pendants with resin... Uh... What a mess. Some managed to spill over and aren't salvageable. There are also air bubbles. None are super-large, though. (I swear I did whatever I could to get rid of them!)
I have some resin left over. I'll use and then switch to glaze. I know glaze isn't as durable but it's more controllable than resin. I'll use the glaze for magnets, which are probably just going to stick to fridges.
Bah, I'll just take a break from it all. In the mean time I'll watch and read Batman. ^^

awww mannn that sucks!! There has to be an easier way to flatten them :/ I'm scared to use resin now lol it just seems like one huge mess >.< There was a tutorial I found a couple months ago: [link] It's pretty good He uses a straw to blow out the bubbles.. that might work I'm sure glaze would be okay for fridge magnets and lol that sounds funnn lol I'm trying to take a 'break' by sewing (which really isn't a break but whatevaaa lol) , my jewelry pieces are annoying me! The silver metal (not sterling) keeps changing colors and everyone keeps saying don't use hot glue blah blah blah... it sucks :/ I need to experiment more with some 'construction' suppiles lol
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-04-12 20:29:49 +0000 UTC]
I think I should have used a condiment bottle for more control. I want to try UV resin but it's quite pricey.
Somehow I knew that was going to be one of John W. Golden's tutorials. I'm psychic...
I did use a straw for the air bubbles but it didn't always work.
Hot glue isn't meant for long term projects, I think. Have you tried E6000? I should find my tube of it. It's not really the sort of glue to leave lying around. >_> I plan on using that for the magnets. I should find some regular craft magnets at a reasonable wholesale price so I can do overseas orders. (Apparently rare Earth magnets aren't plane-friendly.)

neonfaze In reply to DaemonHikage [2010-04-13 03:13:15 +0000 UTC]
lol it is a good tutorial though lol. aww :/ I would say a blow dryer.. but then the pendants will fly away lol. Yea true, but hot glue is just so easyyy. I have E600. I CAN'T STAND IT! the tube's tip is always dried up (I can't put the top on because it sticks to it and it is HARD to pull off) and then there are random holes that appear on the tubes and leaks out some glue.. I just hate it lol and it takes too long, and some say is discolors fabrics too :/ That glue is definitely perfect for magnets and I see, I bought some earth magnets one day, and I forgot I left them on my dresser and I put my brand new ipod touch on it... I started panicking and all lol but luckily I just restarted it and it worked lol I would presume since other things are on the plane it might damage some things in other packages?

DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-04-13 18:18:21 +0000 UTC]
I think I'll design something that has to do with water so I can say "The air bubbles are supposed to be there!"
The only problems I have with E6000:
- IT FREAKING SMELLS!
- I can never squeeze out one tiny glob. It just leaves a trail. (Man, that sounds weird out of context.)
I think I'll store the magnets on my bookshelf since there are no electronics. ^^ Rare earth magnets can interfere with navigational equipment apparently. One small magnet might not do anything but a whole bunch of them together might be asking for trouble. :\
I'm trying to figure out how I should mail my items, too. A bubble mailer seems a bit much for key chains and magnets (< -- the regular, non-hazardous sort). -_-

neonfaze In reply to DaemonHikage [2010-04-18 06:25:09 +0000 UTC]
lol an underwater scene would work fine lol and yesss!!! I know! that glue is difficult to use :/ nd lol >.< haha
Yea so I've heard lol, magnets are interesting little things. I'm still experimenting, but bubble mailers seem the only way to go, they have small ones, not very small, but small. Maybe you can make you're own tiny bubble mailers (not too tiny now lol) that would be cool I'm sure you've seen tutorials on that anyways lol

DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-04-18 16:16:41 +0000 UTC]
I already have a mermaid design to deal with air bubbles. I need to color it though.
I've made some magnets but there's a bit of rust. They're fine for my grunge-ish stuff but for pretty flowers it's a no-no. I need more bottle caps. I had a Corona one I put on my work table but it disappeared. O_O
I plan on making my own mailers since I have rolls of bubble wrap and wrapping paper. I don't feel like spending money on small mailers that are still too big. >_< And yeah, I have a tutorial bookmarked. XD

neonfaze In reply to DaemonHikage [2010-04-19 00:35:21 +0000 UTC]
lol whatchu doin with Corona?! lol jk hehe, oh I see :/ there should be a way to get the rust off, hopefully . That would be great!, I have this brown kraft paper stuff.. I will try to draw on them (or print...idk lol) but do you think the post office will have a problem with non standard size packages?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-04-19 00:56:23 +0000 UTC]
I don't drink... >_> Really. I don't. >_>
I couldn't get the rust off since it's embedded into the glaze (silly water-base material! ). I decided to do the ghetto thing and just wait for the glaze to completely dry and stick another cut-out inside the caps. It covers up the old art but at least the rust isn't visible.
I believe the post office has something on non-standard sizes. Check their site. ^^ I think I'll make mailers about 4 x 6. I just need to figure out the scale of the "base" sheets.

I wonder if I can get away with using regular envelopes with some bubble wrap inside (and a lot of packing tape). I have so much of that... -_-
I was looking through my junk drawers and found these wooden stars I meant to use for cosplay. It looks like I won't be cosplaying that particular outfit any time soon (plus the stars are easy to come by) so I decided to make some pendants with them. I made them the same way a scrabble tile pendant is made. I wish I had some jewelry bails though. I don't feel like ordering any and I don't feel like walking to Michaels (I have fallen to the Communists and am cramping up a bit if you know what I mean D: ). I guess I'll have to complete them later.

wow am I late lol! I'm pretty sure that would be fine and really? I was doing the same thing with the wooden thingies.. well not a scrabble pendant though, just painting them and gluing things on. I bet they look kewl why not drill a hole in them/ Thats what I'm about to do.. although I can see why bails would be better... hmmm D: lol and I know how you felt! I recently had that visit lol. Sorry for being so lateee!
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
DaemonHikage In reply to neonfaze [2010-05-12 22:15:36 +0000 UTC]
I need a new layer of glaze on some of the pendants. They got a bit scratched somehow.
I would rather use bails so I don't need to use jump rings later on. (I hate jump rings soooooo much.)
I would like to see what you've been working on.
(I need to prepare a backdrop or something for photographing my work.)
I think I'll start with selling some ink wash drawings, which I can price pretty "high." I have sheets of paper that cost about a dollar each. Mmmm. Profits. Shipping costs might be high though. I have a priority shipping tubes but people are like "No! That's not enough. It could still get damaged and blah, blah, blah." So... I would have to buy an extra tube. I think a $10 flat rate charge should cover any extra expense. >_>
Oh and you're not late if there's no deadline.

what kind of glaze do you use? I found something called Inkssentials 'Glossy Accents' from acmoore, so far it's pretty nice. I used my 40% off coupon thats the only reason why I got it lol. I looked for bails, and found some.. but it was for some insane price at acmoore D: After shopping there I now think it would be better if I just shopped online from now on lol.. and maybe find a free shipping store -.-
I've been working on alot of things :] well... to me they seem like alot, but when I actually count them all, it seems like nothing but they are pretty cool Well I think so lol. And I'm still figuring that out (photographing)! I was just using some scrapbook paper and a window for light which seemed to work out okay, but my small digital camera isn't the best sometimes, and the big one doesn't have the capabilities of doing close-up shots :/ anywaysss you can also browse around on etsy for some ideas
And that sounds great! I hope those sales go great for you! Let me know when you open your shop I can link you from mine (when I also get mine up -.- lol) I say go to the post office with what you plan on shipping and see what it will cost, or you can also put some of the shipping costs in the price so it won't seem to high ya know? but idkk lol. Haha I like that saying

Um... I think I shall draw some naked women to sell. XD
I already have your shop faved. : D
I registered as a seller: [link]
I don't have anything up yet so... Yeah. I did post a link to your shop. ^o^
I'm pretty sure shipping wouldn't cost more than $5. I just need to keep insurance and stuff in mind. So... I'm going for $10 shipping & handling charges.

I use the glaze sold by this one Etsy shop, Sun and Moon. I hear it's comparable to Crystal Lacquer or whatever the heck it's called.
My camera is okay... sometimes. Even at the highest quality, my photos are slightly pixel-ish. I want a new (and much slimmer) camera. I'm not sure where to set up a nice backdrop. With my family around it will probably get wrecked in five seconds. Someone (probably my mom) put a SQUASH

I finally put stuff up, I am not satisfied with the look of the pictures though it looks so boringggg lol. And it depends what your shipping something big might cost 10 dollars, but earrings and stuff should be that much... it depends though lol.
