- ( ❅ ;; considering her love of horror movies and the macabre, she decided to dress up as samara morgan from the classic movie the ring )
- ( ❅ ;; right now, she was just doing her makeup for the costume. a bonus was that it was a new moon night tonight, so her hair had changed from nebula colors, to a deep midnight black )

- ( ❅ ;; so far the makeup was going on without a hitch, and she clearly was having fun putting it on )

-- [ ✩ ] ;; as much as she would love to say that halloween was one of her favorite holidays, it really wasn't anything special towards the younger hybrid.
-- [ ✩ ] ;; it wasn't as if she disliked it either, it was just merely the fact that she never really got to celebrate it in her early days, she didn't even know it was a thing until later when mahina and nawala decided to stay in the alola region.
-- [ ✩ ] ;; sure it sounds very exciting, to dress yourself as something or someone else and go around and have parties or walk around to houses and ask for candy.
-- [ ✩ ] ;; however, it was just not the brown haired female's thing— sure she liked sweet things occasionally, but she gets sick easily if she eats more than a couple of hard candies, let alone a whole bucket full of one.
-- [ ✩ ] ;; but still, it was surprisingly adorable to see small children pass by and ask for candies, something that nawala didn't mind handing out— she didn't mind decorating her whole house for one night either, it was just one day anyways.
-- [ ✩ ] ;; hanging on the couch in her living room, she was comfortably watching the television— probably some bad halloween themed movie until mahina called the hybrid's name.
-- [ ✩ ] ;; perking up at the voice of her older sister, she turned her head around to see the other already fully dressed up as the small girl from the movie the ring— and she had to admit, her costume was well made.
-- [ ✩ ] ;; an approving hum left her throat as she did a quick scan through mahina's costume, she did thumbs up as a reply. it really did look like the real deal, and with no doubt would it scare the humans.

- ( ❅ ) i. If there was one thing the hybrid hated about Aether, it was their determination; fools. All of them. Why can't they just leave her and the other hybrids alone for once ? It was frustrating. Irritating. She hated having to see her sister while in this state, but what other choice did she have ? Nawala was the only closest hybrid she could seek help from right now. The other children were too far away, and who knows how long she has before she actually blacks out ? Fucking poison . . . she was feeling nauseous, choking on air that she didn't even need, but breathed anyway. While yes, her body was capable of naturally expelling the poison, it'd take a while depending on the dosage used on her.
Oh, please, be home, Nawala . . .
- ( ❅ ) ii. At least, Nawala has a house very close to her own, so whenever she wanted to visit their houses were just a ten minute walk away. The teenager had luck on her side knowing this fact. She clutched at her side as she continued to limp-run her way there. How she managed to get away from Aether's henchmen was beyond her, but she did it. She lived to see another day of freedom. Mahina coughed slightly, continuing to gasp for air. It hurt just to breathe, and she hated it.
- ( ❅ ) iii. Upon arriving to her younger sister's house, the Lunala hybrid knocked as fast and hard as she could. "N-Nawala! Open... Open the door, p-please!" She shrieked out, her voice weak and panicked. After narrowing escaping an attempted abduction, who wouldn't be scared ? Mahina was never the type to be scared, but after what happened earlier, she was on the highest alert for any sort of noise pertaining to the hellhole they escaped from. Her frantic knocking got a swift response, thank Arceus . . . Mahina's bloody and bruised appearance wasn't a pleasant sight, but at least her sister wasn't known to be squeamish.

The voice of a child rang quietly from around the corner, who had been holding out his hand towards the girl. "Hurry- come with me! My team and I are here to rescue you guys!"
A few weeks ago at Mouris residency a mother had frantically rushed in after her child had gone missing. A few interrogations, questionings, and investigations later, Conan, Kogoro, the Inspector, and a few feds arrived quietly onto the island after coming to the conclusion that children had been getting kidnapped and taken there to be experimented on. How they had gotten away with it for so long was completely beyond him- but thankfully he had been alerted to it, because now that they knew about it they could properly take care of it.
Conans brow furrowed as he watched the girl, hand still held out and offered to her. He figured that she probably wouldn't trust him, and hell- he'd totally understand why, but he really, really hoped that they could do this peacefully and quickly. They had already rescued a few others who were un-trusting to begin with, so he wouldn't be surprised if she was the same. The only question is...did she want to be saved?

[ ♛ ] ;; Perking up at the voice of what seemed to be one of a child, she slowly blinked as she realizes that it was one that seemed completely unfamiliar to her. Strange, she would've thought that she would recognized every other child that was held as an experiment, perhaps she was wrong— or maybe it could've been an outsider, someone who wasn't necessarily involved and used as one of the experiments. And strangely it was indeed the latter, dull Lilac purple eyes widened at the realization that there were strangers inside the lab of the Aether Foundation, people that wanted to rescue the experimented children nonetheless.
❝ ... ❞However as much as she would've liked to taken his hand within a heart beat, something stopped her from committing the escape. Maybe she was still in doubt that a small child like him could truly provide escape from this hellhole, perhaps it was the fear that they would still get caught in the meanwhile of proceeding through the actions of escaping— perhaps it's both. Countless of thoughts of what results swam through her mind as she started to debate whether she should take his hand or not, what if it's false hope— what if they fail to escape anyways, who knows what the scientists would do to her this time.
But still, anything is better than to sit still and wait till she dies one day from the overload of pain or the failure of the experiment that was used on her small body. Without wasting another second of making up her mind, she grabbed the hand of the younger male with her eyes shining with determination, nodding her head at him to lead the way towards the exit. She remembers all the times that she and the others already tried escaping and failing, resulting that the humans here punished the children for even thinking of leaving. The child recalls the emptiness and the dread inside her stomach whenever it was nearing the time for her to be experimenting on— never did she wanted to ever feel like that ever again. Even if they did end up failing to escape, she could atleast tell herself that she'd tried to escape— instead of sitting and waiting till her last breath.

> Conan narrowed his eyes with a smile, returning the determined nod as he celebrated to himself in his head over the fact that this girl didn't seem to have any issues with escaping, much unlike some of the others. 'Made it easier for him, and quicker for the both of them to high tail out of there. Having that said, the brunette tightened his grasp on the girls hand and began to guide her to safety. Running, of course, but at a pace that wasn't too fast to keep up with, nor loud enough to attract any attention.
He seemed to swerve through halls and just barely get out of a few scientists lines of sight with ease. This wasn't his first rodeo helping people escape places and it most certainly wasn't going to be the last. "About a month ago a woman came to my uncles detective agency and told us about some missing children and what her suspicions were-" He paused briefly to slide them through an open narrow vent in the wall beside them as a shortcut to the next hallway, "-And a few investigations later we found this place. We've already detained quite a few scientists and you're the third kid I've helped out of here!" Conan looked over his shoulder to glance back at her as he finished explaining, maintaining quite the determined expression.
That is- until he came to a sudden halt just at the end of a hallway. The boy could hear some scientists on the other end talking and walking towards the hall they were currently in...shit, shit, shit! The young detectives grip on the girls hand tightened once more as he spun around, frantically trying to locate a place for them to hide. He spotted a couple of doors that were probably locked and a box all the way at the beginning of the hall that they could hide in- but it was too far ahead. They'd have some distance over them, but they'd be found if they tried.
Quickly, he turned to face Nawala. "Can you open any of these doors?" He questioned, pointing towards a few lined up next to them. Conan really, really hoped that the answer was yes, because if she couldn't they'd be caught, and he'd have to fight. It wasn't like he couldn't fight, he was equipped with a tranquilizer in his watch (albeit only with one needle), and shoes from the professor that had the power to kick a brick in half, but fighting meant making noise, and making noise meant attracting attention, and attracting attention meant getting in even more danger, which lessened the amount of people they could save and the time they had to get as many people rounded up as they could before anyone noticed. The scientists were rounding the corner...

{🔥} THE time at ember island now was still tense despite the long time ahead before sozin's comet would crash. but the others seem to throughly enjoy themselves here and zuko shared many laughs and smiles with them, making new memories to treasure on this time. but he needed some time to think as he felt the clock slowly ticking towards that fateful day against his father. he walked along the shore with his previous footsteps soon disappearing by the gentle lapping waves.
{🔥} HIS mind thought about the last confrontation they had. it was not his destiny to defeat his own father. did aang have enough strength to kill him? that was the only way to achieve peace for this century old war. one death could save them all but he knew of aang's philosophy and the hesitance that followed. during this time, he walked far enough to the small caves that dotted the shores of the tropical island.
{🔥} BUT instead of them being empty, he saw small remnants of a fire in one. was it perhaps a stray tourist? not many -if no one- ever came to this side of ember island as it was already considered to be old royal property. and there were no sources of entertainment and food here like in the more popular beaches. curiosity took its hold and his steps began to be more thoughtful and slow as he peered into the mouth of the cave.
{🔥} IN the cave was a seemingly young girl with bouncy brown hair and a simple dress. he looked around and across the beach. no one seemed to be here except him. it was very strange to have someone come this far on the other remote side.❝ Excuse me but- are you lost ? ❞

[ ♛ ] ;; Perhaps it wasn't necessary for her to travel that far away from the region she called home, especially since there were little cousins and her sister waiting for her return, but it has been a while since she traveled all by her self. Of course the perks of having a family was that she wasn't often lonely or bored anymore, the presences of the small children were lovely and the whole family was very familiar and comforting to be around with. However she missed being able to travel alone, the excitement she felt whenever she went to somewhere new, a place she haven't been before and exploring it to her heart's content— she couldn't really do that while being together with another, especially since her curiosity was almost insatable. She didn't wanted to drag someone else with her to places they didn't desire to go, nor would that be good since the brown haired female felt like another's company would merely drag her down in process of exploring the new places.
So when she told her small family that she would go away for a little while, she promised them that she would be made sure to take souvenirs back with her. And so she traveled many new places, it really was handy that she could easily use her.. unusual and rare powers to make portals to many different places, even when receiving such strange powers was an.. unpleasant experience for her and some other hybrids. It became dark quite quickly as she noticed the sunsetting in the distance, realizing that she was on a deserted island— or so it seem. Perhaps it would be a good idea to find a place to rest before continuing and finding a proper place to rest the night away.
Finding shelter wasn't that hard, as she realizes that there were multiple caves going around the island. Making a small fire place wasn't hard either, especially because of her previous surviving skills. It was a long while ago since she had so much fun being alone and having the comfort silence, it's been a few decades since she last had the chance to do so— and although the years went by rather quickly, her young and child—like appearance haven't changed for a single bit. Deep in her thoughts, she didn't notice the fire going out slowly, nor the extra presence nearby the cave she was resting in. Only after the unfamiliar figure spoke, she forced herself out of her thoughts— only to blink in mild surprise at the male.
Curious and confused, the first thing she noticed about the male was the dark red scar on the left side of his face, the second thing that she wonders was where the male was exactly was coming from. She had nearly explored the whole island and there wasn't a single house nor any lives to be detected on this place. Although suspicious of the other, she didn't find his presence necessarily dangerous, no threat would be as polite as that— nor ask another if they were lost.

He also noticed the confused scrunch of her eyebrows as she seemed to consider something. soon his dark thick eyebrow furrowed as a frown etched itself deeper in his face. he noted the lack of the mention of the tropical beaches or how many people came here for vacation. maybe someone from one of the other kingdoms who accidentally crash landed here? well, either way, he had to get her back to where most people would be staying- where more food and light would be. he had time before the rest would sorely miss him and grow deeply worried. and the main paths were easy if one paid enough attention to them. he shook his head and soon made a motion with his hand to come follow him. his voice held their usual sharp edged curtness.❝ No, its not a problem. ❞

Anyway- it's going to be dark soon and I think you need to head back where all the houses are before the night. ❞{🔥} WHILE she was following him, the sun soon began to lower in the sky, decorating the clouds with oranges and reds. the long drawn out silence between them reminded zuko of the fact that he was not a natural conversationalist like sokka, for example. he might as well introduce himself before leading some strange explorer girl to easier paths on the island. he would have to use a fake due to his current standing and royal position. but nevertheless, he gave it a shot anyway. there was an unsure frown on his face before he turned to her and introduced himself.❝ My name is ... Lee, by the way. ❞

[ ♛ ] ;; Letting out a low hum in response, she realizes that his sharp tone was something that she didn't hear that often— mostly by the people who didn't quite appreciated her existence as much as some others did. However he only seem to be only wanting to help her, which has her wondering if he used to be more.. cold and distant than he was at the present time. Though she quickly ended those thoughts and questions in her mind, especially since she was aware that she had no business— nor any kind of permission to meddle and question his past, perhaps even more so due the fact that his past could be a sensitive subject to him. And with those thoughts in mind and silence following the duo, she quietly followed him towards the main paths.

The shorter hybrid replied with a soft tone, nodding her head in acknowledgement. She did noticed the slightest stop in his sentence, so she guessed that it wasn't his real name— a fake alias perhaps. Well it wasn't as if she cared much whether he told her his real name or not, though she quickly became aware that he either had something to hide, or that there were many people after him. She couldn't blame him either, especially since it was healthy to be cautious around strangers, and since she too, used a name that she wasn't born with. Although it wasn't her real name, the name 'Nawala' was used be her.. subject name, back when she used to be an human experiment. Honestly the past didn't bother her that often anymore, especially since she got out with many other children that she calls as her own family, and because it's been so long since it first started, another couple of decades— perhaps even more.. The female can't quite recall anymore, it's been many, many years and her memories weren't always been labelled as the best.
She noted about the things that she learned about the island that she was staying at. So apparently the island was called the Empire Island, a vacation spot— and mostly used by.. 'wealthy Fire Nation families'. Truly a weird thing to categorize certain called families, really— but honestly she wouldn't be the one to judge. From the places where she originally came from, they had something called Regions instead of just lands and countries, so it wasn't truly that something of a big deal. Still she wanted to thank him for his help, even though she would've find the paths herself sooner or later, the girl merely appreciated that there were still people around who helped others with no motive of getting something in return— and the thoughts of those kind moments from others really did warm up her heart.
