O: !!! my friends played an online game, they didn't last long :"D so I never tried myself. Too used to our GM since he has a specific way of being awesome ^u^ (he is also my brother ) and I didn't play pathfinder in aaaages! I'm playing GURPS still, more freedom c:

GURPS was an early RPG for me but I find I like the restrictions of D&D and Pathfinder. That way whenever you accomplish something of sheer awesome, you really know you earned it. My GM always teases me about being a munchkin because I build really broken builds just for fun. I'll never actually use them in session, but breaking the game is a fun side hobby to D&D. xD 

We use a site called Roll20.net that works really well for any game system. I found that our DM, who lives in Chile while the rest of us live in various places in the US, is probably the best I've had the pleasure of gaming with. He's also one of my best friends, so I definitely understand favoring a specific DM/GM.

I also feel more comfortable RPing in text rather than verbal. I tend to be really reserved when not in front of my keyboard. So playing online really helps me get into character.

oh god! that about roll play punched me in the gut!!!! yeah LOL I never realized that about myself, but I did my better roll playing online, I mean via typing :"D nvm I was doing it in mmos for fun with my guilds and clans, nothing serious, but still ... I get like nervous when I gotta do it myself, like in person, not that I'm shy or anything, I just dont have the vocabulary and don't sound as "cool" as I'd like, I giggle and rp-ing a serious conversation is a challenge, but my group is sooo used to me, it works (we roll play in english mostly since english sounds better than my own language :"D )
but that's also a problem cause we're so used to this, our style we're doing the same thing over and over, I've been making variations of a same character for a few years now :/ which is a warrior woman that's like a knight, guard or smt protector of the weak  xDDD basically anyway, way off topic :'3

you got me to think about trying smt new :"D since we're finishing our current campaign in a session or two, and I was thinking about taking a break. My group wants to play like .. idk what's it called, like a steam punky setting in the victorian age and I'm just meh, no, to that c: I like my swords and magic :"D

LOL, you and I are gonna get along swell. xD

For me, I don't speak well. I trip over words and stutter. I am fine goofing around and looking like an idiot doing so, but I get frustrated when speaking because I can't properly put into verbal words what I want to say. Typing helps by getting my hands moving and I can pause to find the words I want to use.

I don't think it's bad that you like playing the same role over and over, so long as you enjoy doing so. That's the point after all, having fun. If you're looking for ideas for new character roles to try out... I suppose I could come up with a few ideas, though it's a little difficult without knowing what system you guys intend to play next. Still, with all the characters I've played, the gentle Goliath barbarian was the most fun. It's nice just playing the innocent "child" in RP then just casually squishing things in Combat. Hmmm... How about an insane alchemist who has an imaginary sibling that he regularly talks to? That would fit into a Steam Punk world and explosives are always fun.

:"D !!! nah I don't like the steam punky-ness (we played it before, this would be the continuing of the old story, vampires... now it'll be warewolves, I dunno, the idea is just not something I like all that much) :'3 so I'll skip, but those are some awesome ideas :'3 and all that you said about being goofy, yeah, that's me also XD love makin ppl laugh, but yeah frustrating to do a normal conversation xD

Sorry to just poof... rough week.

Yea, I used to be a fan of occult creatures such as vampires and werewolves, but lost a lot of interest and respect for the genre with the rise of teen angst occult novels. They've ruined the classic feel of the creatures for me. I don't mind their inclusion in fantasy, but can't really get into anything centered around them. Except the American Vampire comics, which are sheer awesomeness. Scott Snyder writes real rough and gritty western occult. And the art fits the general feel of the story with such perfection too. It's right up there with Batman Hush/Under the Red Hood, Mark Miller's Ultimates (and Ultimates 2), and Batman Court of Owls for me. Do you read/follow any comics?

Hey, there is a group of friends I've met through various DeviantArt groups that are starting their own group. It's a chat based RP group... not sure if that's the sort of thing you are into, but it's going to be fantasy based and most of the mods are European. If nothing else, they are a great bunch of silly people that I think you may like. Oh... and some of their art is pretty sweet too. You interested?

If you ever want to try out comics, Mark Miller and Scott Snyder... those men know their way around a story. Pathfinder also has their own comic going on, but I just started in on that one.

The group hasn't been set up yet... in fact it will probably be a few months, but when it's up, I'll shoot you a link.
