Well, if you get these messages the way that I do when someone responds to me, I wanted to tell you two things, and as I am blocked, this is my only method:
One, I happened to spot your most recent art, and it is very cool. (regardless of what's gone on, I have to say that I can appreciate interesting art)
Two, I'm glad you learned from the whole incident with Hikaru and posted all of your pose references. That was responsible and professional of you.

You know, I went strait to your gallery to apologize after i'd calmed down and hadn't checked my own homepage (i rarely do.) Consider the apology withdrawn. I pointed out that such a lack of ethics (including not admiting that the art was one you found elsewhere) was a darker side of posting artwork online. And that it is reasons like that which stop people from posting it. Whether it was theft or just a lack of ethics, it is wrong. Plain and simple. Anytime I've gotten an idea from a suggestion from soneone else in my writing, I credit it to that person. That's just common decency which you must lack to use language that I assure you never once appeared in my post on your page. I suppose that just goes to show you have no ethics or consideration in general.

Oh, and if you wanted me or others to get off your back quickly, you might have done well to originally tell us all that you found it on google and that this second post included the pose credit. But you didn't. You cussed on my site, called us all rude for pointing out your error (we can't help that several of us found it at once), and behaved far more improperly than even the person with the rudest comment.

You're right, you did mention it on your post on your site, but you also posted on the personal sites of the people who responded (mine, by the way, was the only one at the time to receive the kind of crude response you gave me). Unfortunately, the response you gave me wasn't just a copy/paste of the more adult (though martyr-like) post on your site. It was a juvenile attempt to make me feel bad that made me feel angry, irate, furious, indignant... and the list goes on.

Thanks. Yeah, I mean, she knows she was wrong, admitted it on some pages, but told me she didn't feel guilty on one response.
And though we were angry, I don't think anyone went too far over the top. I mean, she was crude to me and used language I would never use on someone else's site.

So you didn't steal hikaru's art in the traditional sense. But you very nearly copied her figure either by tracing or sketching--my friends still will argue which--and over and over commented that it was yours. You gave absolutely no credit to the original artist or anonymous artist it came from. That is still theft, still hurtful, and still one reason people refuse to post online. There are many artists who wouldn't have cared what the story was behind your reasons, they would have simply called you a theif for borrowing their work. Had you made any effort to point out the artwork was borrowed, you wouldn't have had your mess on your journal. And, by the way, Hikaru only told us that she saw someone had used her art. She didn't sic her friends on you. We are loyal and merely made the decision to point out your major faux pas on our own.

My response, I still feel wasn't by any means as rude or crude as yours was.

If you want the honest truth, while I'm still upset that you didn't have the basic online decency to say, "I saw this really cool pose, don't know who did it, but I tried my own hand at it" at the moment, I'm angry that you couldn't respond without sinking to the level of using the language you did that I didn't and decided to put it on my journal rather than keeping it to your own.
And you have told me to check my facts. The fact is that what you did was wrong regardless of where you got the pic, and where you saw it. (oh, and in one person's response, you said it came up on google, and on another you said it came from dev. art, so try to be consistent yourself if you want people to "get the facts straight.")
And even though I remain angry with you for your decision to sink to the level of using crass language on an account I use for my friends to contact me, unless I suddenly feel it is necessary, I'll refrain from posting responses on your journal. Wasting space and commenting back to you is fine for mine, but you see, I understand online ethics apparently much better than you do. And filling up another person's journal with arguments and a back-and-forth would be rude since you so obviously would rather I don't comment again, even though I still contend that my second comment about the artwork that you borrowed remains true.

Besides, I truly don't have the desire to raise your views that much by either commenting or telling my friends to "see her response."

So the honest fact is that while I'm rarely online, not at artist, I obviously have a better understanding of ethics.

Of course I did, and I know words like furious, irate, angry, fuming, unbelievably indignant, etc. that can take the place of that word. Thank goodness you are an artist because your ability to utilize the English language to express your emotions is definitely lacking.

And when you make a mistake online, people tend to find it and discuss it. And if others feel they must make a point, they make sure to do it. It's a fact of posting online. It isn't as though we all posted the same thing "You're a thief." just to fill your inbox. We each had our own opinion, each had our own thoughts on the matter.
