Roy was feeling sentimental as of late, the kind that spelled trouble if he were to be left alone.
He finds himself in a bar, downing one shot, two and a third until his brain finds that familiar tickle, the buzz pushing aside more rational thoughts and replace them with other kinds. He singles to the bartender once more, this time for a beer and sips at it calmly, turning in the stool to look around the bar. It's a shabby joint, the pool table is decent enough for a hustle and the small gathering of people gives the place and stale air a sense of peace. He wants to talk, can feel words curling against the edges of his dry mouth. All in all, he could use a friend.
He calls out to the first person he thinks is worth a damn to talk to. "Hey, buddy. What're ya drinkin'?"
