The only reason it would be inappropriate is because they're still very immature. I volunteer at elementary schools and all of the young girls that have read Breaking Dawn are surprisingly mature about it. Even at that young of an age, they realize that sex is a part of life and is unavoidable. It was something that simply had to happen to move the plot along. Besides, there ARE other things that happen in that book, far more interesting things. The breaking the headboard thing is just something that readers giggle about and move on.

Honestly, it's not like any 10 year old is suddenly going to get pregnant because Edward and Bella did in the book.Stephenie Meyer made sure to state that sex before marriage is against God in her books many times. If anything, the book promotes abstinence. Stephenie said that she knew where she wanted to end her books, and the honeymoon had to happen. It was a part of the book she couldn't cut out. For the love of all that's holy, she's a Mormon! If she could skip the honeymoon and just get to the pregnancy, Jesus knows she would.

But she couldn't. She had to stumble over it to continue on with her books; because, as I said before, since the writing of the first one, she knew how she wanted it to end: Edward and Bella married with a daughter that brings the Cullens and the Quileutes together. It's her book, not anyone elses, so she can do what she wants.

My lord. It was just a little pun. Time for some of you "Older, more mature teenagers/adults" to grow up; if the 5th graders can handle it, why can't you?
