I really liked the vertical format and the shapes, the whole painting seemed to be so well balanced.I took some time to check out your other page, wow! what a lot of dogs.My wife has two chihuahuas which she loves and me who she tolerates as long as I keep bringing home food for her and the dogs.just joking.I noticed from your DA name you might be familiar with the Urantia book?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

theancientofdays In reply to oceaneddy [2008-04-21 10:31:25 +0000 UTC]

Well, I suppose I do paint a lot of dogs - most of my work is commissioned, so I paint whatever people ask of me, and people seem to really love their pets. I have a basic understanding of the Urantia Book - haven't read it, though (I don't think I could manage 2,000 pages - I have trouble enough with the back of a packet of cereal! ). The username is from the first painting I sold many years ago...

Yes your versatility shows in your work. Thank you for selecting my paintings..the vistas and colors we experiance here in the Pacific are what I try to put into my work.and is what I saw in yours.Glad to see your eating healthy .Yeah 2000 pages is alot I've been reading it off and on for awhie now.

oceaneddy In reply to xTRANCIE [2008-04-19 04:25:55 +0000 UTC]

Hey thanks.my watercolors are mediocre at best.I mostly push paint around, and do all my drawing with apaintbrush which can be a drawback when it comes to watercolor.so I thinkyou may be ahead of me there.Use the absolute best paints and paper you can afford.Mastering the Watercolor Wash by Joe Garcia.North light Books.Check out Paul Brent website. He's got some great watercolors .To flatten a finished piece sponge the back of the painting so its barely damp.place it between two sheets of wax paper or a flat surface that you know won't stick, pile books to completly cover it heavier the better then wait 6-8 hours till dry.
