Thanks for the reply. I admire your vector work. I work in illustrator all the time (live and breath it) but I really get as creative as your work. Truthfully I've never even held a commercial BJD so I feel like I'm re-inventing the wheel a lot with what I'm working on. I'm not sure how far your sci-fi fandom goes but I'm currently working on a Motie BJD. Its really exciting and challenging to develop a non-human doll.

If you have a chance to go to local meetups and see some dolls in person, I think you'll be really glad you did. We're a mainly Volks household now, since my fiancee used to live near the LA store, but I also have a Souldoll and an Unoa, as well as having had and sold several different CP molds. It's really amazing, once you start looking at the details, how many ways you can interpret each piece. You think you know how an elbow works, and then five different companies can show you ten different ways for an elbow to work. Some people think that looking at professional molds closely will ruin original sculpting, but I think it can only serve as inspiration--no two bodies (or heads, but that's more visible) are quite alike!

I really do need to do some in-person research. There is only one shop in town that sells BJD as far as I know. I think I may have an in to a meet up I'll have to look into that. I've always made dolls, I made my first cloth one when I was like 11 but I'm new to the BDJ stuff it is very cool and challenging. The community around them is also more then I expected. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, the one store is the Volks LA location we used to go to in Torrance, CA. I know Den of Angels can be intimidating--I haven't been on in years now, we're BJD hermits of a sort--but it's definitely worth your while to find a local meetup/group to go to.

Oh wow, thank you so much for the watch, Odd! I love the TJ and Amal dolls you made, those are so great! (I'm going to watch you back nowww~)
Also, I was wondering, I've been lurking on bbt's ustreams for a little while now. You're oddone, right? Is it as much fun chatting in there as it looks? Because it looks pretty darn awesome.

Greetings,
Yes i am oddone/oddnoone and many iterations of odd. It is fun to chat, i'd say i only chat 50% of the time. my spelling is very bad and i'm usually doing something while i listen to the music. BBT is great to talk to and if things get to weird she'll change the subject. Its actually the first chat i was ever was part of. being old, i didn't get the net communication genes, heh.
