Hey, are you all doing the imperial guard group again at Dragon*Con this year? I am getting a force of Chaos cultists together and will be looking for Imperial scum to take battle pics with.

primarly, how did you join the pipe fitting to the clock?
and...well everything else

ill see if i can write out what i did step by step and still make sense.
1.glued end caps on the ends of a short piece of PVC pipe, this made the basic shape that goes around the arm.
2.i took apart the clock to get rid of all the plastic housings.
3.traced out the remaining clock assembly onto a piece of "chip board". (i found it at an art supply store, its pretty much 1/8inch thick paper.)
4.i drew out the shape of how i wanted the pipboy to look. i did this over the area i did the first sketch of the clock assembly. i cut out the smaller shape, then the bigger shape. then made 3 more copies of it. do the same thing for two of the three. the last one dont cut out the smaller shape.
5. now glue them all together in a stack with the one without the hole on the top. your clock assembly should fit inside this snugly.
6.now just measure the screen size and cut the same size out on the top piece in your stack.
7. start cutting out shapes of chip board that will make the walls of the pipboy that attach to the PVC arm piece that was made earlier. eventually after some trial and error and a lot of guess work the top of the pip boy should roughly fit the pipe.
8. before they are glued together i cut a hole in the top of the pvc pipe big enough for the clock assembly to fit through but smaller than the size of the pipboy top.
9.now i glued both pieces together, followed by using some spackle to fill in all the gaps and make a smoother transition between the parts.
10. ok the hard part is over. now its just adding details. i used parts from old toys i found at garage sales, parts from a water bottle, nobs i got as a surplus store etc. etc. (also find some short screws, throw them in a few places, makes it look a lot more like metal)
11. now i drilled holes where i wanted my new buttons for the clock, and where i wanted the LED lights. I rewired the buttons and soldered up everything.
12. final step, paint. i taped off everything i didnt want to get painted, and hit it with a coat of spray paint primer. after that i got model paint and painted everything that dark green. followed by silver details to make it look like it was worn.
DONE!
woo, i hope that makes sense, i tried to lol, but there is only so much i can only do with words and no pictures. if there is any step that still isnt making sense ill try to cover it in more detail again haha. good luck, hope this helped!
