# About me
HELLO! Please don't be offended if I don't thank you for favoriting one of my deviations - I try to thank everyone, but occasionally someone gets lost/forgotten on accident. It's not personal or intentional, because I'm grateful to and for everyone who enjoys my art!ALL MY DEVIATIONS ARE MY OWN WORK. EITHER I PAINTED IT, DREW IT, WROTE IT, OR PHOTOGRAPHED IT.
*If you would like a larger/higher resolution of any of my photographs, let me know by either sending me a message or leaving a comment on the appropriate deviation or on my profile. I do go through my inbox! It can't be done for all of them, but for most I have the original files still on my HDD.*
I'm a twenty-something American who decided to wait out the recession by continuing my education. Now I've got an MBA, we're still in a recession, and I'm struggling to find a job, while doing freelance, and free, web/graphic design and marketing, so, erm, that worked out well. In the meantime I am reconnecting with my creativity, which was pushed aside and forgotten while at business school. Art has always been a great love of mine, but not something I pursued seriously. Not that I've got the time, I may as throw myself into it!
My preferred artistic mediums are photography and painting (acrylic and watercolor). I'm trying to experiment and find my voice, my style, since most of my art education involved copying other artists. I'm also a writer (fiction). My dream is to someday be a published author of children's literature and win a Newbery Medal.
I'm very lucky to have gotten to travel to many places. In 2005, I studied abroad at a university in England and visited Ireland, Scotland, and Italy while I was there. In 2009/2010 I went abroad again for about a month and visited England, France, Switzerland, Germany, and the Netherlands. I wasn't thinking much about photographs at the time, I was so taken with the locales, so I didn't get as many photos as I'd have liked :( But I'm a big traveler so I'm sure I'll return soon.
Since I'm too poor for a new camera, I'm mostly painting these days. If I get a new camera in a few months, then I'll start taking more photographs. As for painting -my favorite movements include impressionism, abstract, pointillism, post-impressionism, romanticism, and art nouveau. My favorite artists are the usual suspects: Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, Albert Bierstadt, Walter Crane, Alfred Sisley, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul CΓ©zanne, etc lol
I love bright colors, soft strokes, the dreamy, whimsical, shimmery, and romantic.

Yup! For New Year's 2009/2010. It was gorgeous, but during the crazy blizzards that covered Europe so it was freezing lol

haha! I am sure! But it was as beautiful as they say, right? although the cold dampened the idea. Did you eat in any good restaurants?

Oh, yeah, it's gorgeous! And the food everywhere was delicious! Best French onion soup I ever had was at a cafe outside Versailles lol

Oh man, every day was freezing! But the day we spent at Versailles was definitely the coldest - and it started to rain! So I could hardly get any outdoor shots since my camera's not water proof. The coldest was when we got to Germany 2 days after France - that's when the big blizzards hit, and we got snowed in in Heidelberg! It was insane at the time - all the tvs and radios were talking about was the crazy weather.

WOW! That must have been almost kind of scary knowing that you were in a foreign country!!!

Honestly, I was more excited because part of me was thinking, "I don't want to leave and now I can't!" But being stuck in a hotel isn't fun on vacation lol Plus I was surrounded by friends. I think if I'd been alone, it would've been terrifying!

Oh yeah! Especially in Germany! That must've felt great though. Stuck in Europe and legal all because of the weather! But I could see the vacation being a bit low at that point. Considering it was a vacation!
