Thanks dude. I've been drawing for a long time. I'm mostly self-taught, since I never went to art school. I actually went to school for Science.
For my traditional work, I usually use PITT pens, Prismacolor markers, or ink and brush. I also use Photoshop, SketchUp, and Maya from time to time.

I am very impressed sir, I am myself had been lost in what to do with myself, I always had a passion for art but I never pursued it until college (I am a graphic designer/illustrator) I am looking to expand my level of expertise, always had a desire for concept art. You don't do your traditional work on a tablet?

I considered "traditional art" to be anything done without the use of a computer, i.e., pencil and paper. I use a Wacom Graphire4 tablet when I do digital stuff.

Sorry, I thought you were asking if I used my Wacom tablet to make traditional art.
I flipped through a few Burne Hogarth books and they look pretty good but I haven't actually studied them. To be honest, I learned Anatomy through dissection and medical texts like Grant's, Grey's, and Netter's, which might more than you need as an artist because there's stuff in there about nerves, organs, and stuff.
I guess I would suggest learning all the names and functions of all the major muscle groups then figure out which ones will be active during a particular movement. For example, if a man raises his arms out to the side you need to know that the deltoids, traps, lats, and pecs will all act a certain way. Once you practice that for a while, you'll be able to make up poses on the fly and not use reference as much.
The skeleton is also a very important consideration. Often I will see beginner artists mess up areas like the pelvis and spine because they're not thinking about the bones within their figure.

Well yeah that's traditional art is , you have any recommendations on any readings I can do to learn the anatomy of the body? I have issues with certain sections of the body and I need to know the basics before I can start using my imagination, also any kind of advice you can share would be great. Sometimes I find myself so frustrated by having such great ideas and not being able to execute them as I predicted.
