Hey you,
Thanks so much for the watch and also the note you sent me. I wish there were more people out there who'd spend a minute to think before they go around blaming people for the mistakes of other people. Gah. People on DA can be so dumb.

Losing Grip and Understanding
When I first began drawing outer space about two years ago, I felt something very special about it. I would spend hours sitting in a lawn chair just looking up at the sky. I would try to imagine what it would be like to be someone on another planet, looking back up at me. What would my star look like in their sky? Would they know I was here? I created the "United Galactic Alliance" to provide a vehicle for my celestial paintings. A union of planets that shared a smiliar interest, to explore and discover.
Now it's two years later. I find I have very little motivation to even go outside, let alone look up at the stars. I feel my paintings are substandard compared to what they used to be. I feel like I have lost the inspiration and incredible feelings that came with creating a piece of celestial art.
How do I know?
When I look at a piece of art done by a friend like Floydier or Padawan, I do not see the art itself. I see the composition, the texturing, the light angles, the debris. I find myself searching more for technical impurities than simply revelling in the piece itself. I think that many people are coming to this same conclusion about themselves. It's getting harder to simply sit back and enjoy the beauty of outer space as I once did. Now I am concerned with it's composition and texture. It saddens me I can no longer look at the Great Nebula in Orion, or M31 in my telescope and simply see a beautiful image.
I am going to continue my work, regardless. Back to simpler time, though. Back to feeling, thought, and enjoyment. Art is not something that is created simply to intrigue others. It is a way of expressing one's ideas and passions. The stars are proof...there is no limit.
Thanks to all who support me.
